Hello Erikuraditossike,

In full disclosure, we are currently not considering implementing a PvE-exclusive server.

By design, Black Desert aims to be enjoyed by multiple adventurers on a vast open field, which is why we consider the open field experience as one of the game's most essential features.

However, it is true that this can also be a problem if we guarantee too much freedom of it. That is why we allocate safe zones throughout the game and impose penalties for plays such as unilateral forced attacks.

However, as you suggested, there are circumstances where you get hindered by other players while you are doing life-skill content, such as horse training. Regarding this, we will think about ways to alleviate such inconveniences.

Thank you.

I already have another MMO in-line and will be moving there... BDO has the worse system, EVER! Also, I will be playing New World if I want to PVP. Simple. The PVP and protection system in BDO is joke.

Time to tell all my friends to avoid this game. Sigh... time to research other games.

I already have the post saved in folder and show it to my friends. Also saving it as proof.

Time to wait and enjoy seeing BDO die slowly. I will also not give any more money to BDO.

What's the point of supporting BDO when PVP is toxic as heck and there is no control? PA, you failed.

You can't say that when their MMORPG is still alive after several years, with the same system. You find it toxic, others don't, there's no point fighting for that, it's simply a game design choice, not a life-threatening situation.

Some people said the same thing than you quickly after BDO's launch, they're still waiting for BDO to die.

So keep the message preciously, show it to your friends, so that those who are looking for such a game can be sure to find their happiness here. ;)

I'll also keep the message anyway!

I'd like a server with no PvP, probably would get griefed out of existence since, you can grief rotations and such...Seeing how I don't believe PA will be willing to do anything about this, how about another idea...

Griefers and such usually target unsuspecting people in PvE, cause the game not only doesn't discourage griefing, it seems to almost encourage it, since, we waste our buffs and time, they lose nothing, and they're just there to ruin someone's fun time in the game for their own amusement, and if we try to play their game, we are the ones that are going to get punished cause, they'll abuse the karma system to their advantage. If they kill us, they just camp our body and force us to spawn far away. Many are willing to just go red cause, they know it's not like most of their targets will actually be a threat to them, not everyone no-lifes training for PvP, so here's a thing, since they want to be all evil and act like monsters that attack everything...

Instead of banning PvP which would defeat one of the main purposes of the game in PA's eyes...Make monster damage apply to red players... since they want to act like mindless monsters like the human enemies you see in some grind zones, make them take damage like they do, apply both human + monster damage to them. Would give a fighting chance even to Shais, or it would at least balance them always having the initiative against people just minding their own business grinding.

Not perfect by any means but, given PA won't give us a non-pvp server (which would have a lot of griefing problems anyway, you just wouldn't get PKed), could be an option.

Another option could be...make a marni's realm for all grind areas (including group ones since, let's be real here, some of the group areas are used as solo grind spots, Mirumok being an example) and make the timer infinite. This would make it so people that just want to mind their own business for the day and want to tune out and relax while grinding (or whatever other reason). Since this game is all about freedom and choice (no, not the streamer xD ), this could be a good option imo.

Just my ideas on this matter, since it is an issue...and issue that unfortunately, made all my friends and some people online I convinced to try the game eventually quit. PvP can be fun, but when it's constantly forced upon you, want it or not, for no reason, no justification, it can be a really poor experience and sullies an otherwise great game with limitless potential.

"The PK system needs to be improved. New Adventurers or fearful Adventurers are too scared to play.
Black Desert is an open-world game designed to allow you go anywhere, and let’s you freely enjoy your choice in playstyle. However, the level of freedom goes up, it means other Adventurers are able to interfere in the adventures of others as you stated. But there are a variety of safeguards put in place that don’t compromise the fundamental freedoms of the game.

First of all, there are many safe zones spread around, including towns and cities, the inability to PK characters under level 50, and the growth server Olvia has forced PvP mode turned off. In addition, we created an environment where Adventurers who recklessly PK are imposed with disadvantages that makes it difficult to harass an Adventurer. On the other hand, for adventurers who want to enjoy PK, we are continuing to develop a variety of PVP content, along with the Battle Arena, Red Battlefield, Arena of Arsha, Node War, Conquest War, and the desert itself.

We will continue to think about ways to make your adventures more enjoyable."

"While we heard your initial feedback on 1 hour being somewhat short, we didn’t want Marni’s Realm to end up overshadowing the main content of Black Desert, that is, fighting monsters in the open world alongside other Adventurers. Therefore, we have no plans to increase the daily limit at this time."

"As for the Karma system, we have no plans to change the system in any major way. This is because Black Desert exists as one huge field. We feel that the Karma system is a "standard" where we can distinguish between "PvP" and "PK." We will maintain a somewhat free PvP system on the field, but we want to discourage PK. However, we've heard stories from certain regions where the Karma system is being abused. We are currently looking into an operational solution to improve on this issue."

It is clear and apparent that BDO is NOT intended to be a pure PVE experience.  PVE and PVP are to simultaneously coexist in one shared world.  Now, this is not to say that "PK" is encouraged -- in fact, read the dev quote I put above that specifically says the devs want to discourage PK.

Not only does a pure PVE server go completely AGAINST this game's core premise ("vast open field" as quoted by the devs/GM), it also opens the door to a slew of new problems that would then need to be addressed.  Things like players grinding over each other, players interrupting the peaceful grind of another with absolutely zero recourse for the player being interrupted, and more.  You see, by restricting PVP, you eliminate one of the core, "fundamental freedoms" (quoted by a dev) of the game --- PVP is merely ONE way, of many, that players meaningfully interact.  PVP opens the door for dispute settlements, motivation to gear up, allows for guild alliances and guild rivalries, and more -- all this, meaningful for the MMORPG experience of BDO.  We do NOT play a single player game!!!  As single player as BDO can be, it is still an MMORPG and the possibility of OWPVP is one of the major ways players meaningfully interact with each other and be aware of other people being around.

I, as a player who has loved BDO since coming back to the game during the Mediah expansion, understand that some players do not like PVP.  And that's fine -- BDO does pretty well at accomodating many different playstyles while maintaining the game's core principles it's had since day 1 (namely, no PVE server).  For players who are averse to PVP, they have done many things to accomodate you:

- Reduced the channel swap cooldown to 10 minutes

- Added Home Channels where you can swap between with zero cooldown

- Added Marni's Realm that guarantees one hour of uninterrupted grind per day

- Many, many viable grind spots now.  In the past, there were only two, maybe three viable spots, not like today where there are easily over 10 viable grind spots in terms of silver income

- Increased Karma penalties (more Karma lost per PK)

- Inability to be attacked at level 49 and below (perfect for horse trainers, farmers, and fishers)

I advise all of those who want a pure PVE server to utilize these things.  You lose nothing of significance when dying in PVP, the most are elixers, which are cheap and abundant in the Central Market, sometimes given for free from events.  While the PKer loses Karma.  When a player loses enough Karma, they become Red and face many negative consequences that heavily dissuade the majority of players (in my experience) from wanting to go Red.  Things like crystal loss upon death, sent to jail if in the desert, attacked by guards when in towns, and even possible item degradation (imagine degrading a PEN Blackstar to TET because of being Red...that's over 110 BILLION silver lost).

As a word to the devs, thank you for trying to accomodate all players while maintaining these core principles of open world gameplay in tact, for the large part over the years.  I, as a long time player, appreciate your efforts and hope BDO lives on as the premiere PvEvP Sandbox MMORPG on the market....Ashes of Creation Alpha 2 is coming soon-ish and will be another PvEvP Sandbox MMORPG, so I hope you guys are ready for actual competition in this niche-market-space.

I would like to see a functional Bountry System.  One that is free from exploit.  That way, players can build upon our community even more by enlisting "good guys" to fight the "bad guys" for the weak players, PVP averse players, or those who don't know how to / cannot defend themselves.  This would make the game more vibrant, IMO, adding to meaningful player interaction and social connections, while adding a little RP spice in the mix as well.  I feel, a functional Bounty System, free from exploit, has potential to alleviate many woes of the PVP averse while maintaining the game's core elements ("vast open field") and adding to the game's fun and overall MMORPG feel in an organic manner.

You know what, that bounty system would most likely make the current situation a lot better, and as you say, keep the blend of PvP and PvE alive and well. I know they announced it but, since I never heard more about it, thought it was dropped. Defintely better than both things I suggested \o/
