Hello guys,
hear me out. I used to play tera, that had some form of crystals too. I thought they had a pretty neat system. You had to buy a thing that discombombulated instead of the crystal on death. You would have them in your inventory and every time a crystal would break, the thing would dissapear instead.
I hope you agree with me that loosing RNG-wise money on death (even it it happens because of lag) is not a good thing in this game. A fixed amount of money lost would still hold up the incentive to not die, but will incourage the players to try new areas without the fear of loosing their precious crystals.
with best regards
p.s. english is not my native language, feel free to correct me ;)
I also used to play Tera, before it's shutdown.
And as for the topic - Definetly yes, please!
+1
I think they had 2 types
> Crystalbinds which you attached to crystals and would break in their place
> Complete Crystalbinds which protected all crystals
We already a form of this in bdo, in that many people use their tag alt just to tag over a couple pieces of gear with expensive crystals
As long as you dont tag a weapon you can usually get by at the minimum cost(20 marni fuels) which ranges from free(giveaways) to 100m if you buy them from the node war shop.
That effectively places a cap of 100mil on cost of crystals breaking, at the expense of your tag character
So adding a crystalbind system into the game would just streamline that process and allow tag characters to serve their intended purpose
..and. I use cheap crystals, but I was very excited to get my garmoths heart and throw 2 glorious ahkrads in there and then tag it over.. except then I remembered that I am a Shai and we cannot tag Artina Sol. 😐
Putting a more deliberate version of crystal protection into the game would avoid stupid situations like that
