Is that what they said about dancing emotes? What about the NPCs that dance? I don't get it, it's supposed to be a role-playing game, an immersion type of game and we can't dance because it doesn't fit the atmosphere? LOOL

Yep that's what they said why they won't add them in, but sci-fi Magnus with techno music fits right in. Makes no sense

I don't really see the argument here, dancing emotes and Magnus are two very different things.

Magnus fits in pretty well with everything being added, we've had rifts for a long time and with Elvia realms being a thing - Magnus makes tons of sense story-wise.

I'm not saying I don't agree with dancing emotes though, would love to see that become a part of the game and honestly figured it would be something Pearl Abyss would add when Kakao was out of the picture.

TLDR: The comparison in the post doesn't make sense, however, dancing emotes should be including 100%.

Do you have a direct quote? At a Calpheon Ball years ago, think it was in the 2nd or 3rd year of live, they said dancing emotes, as well as other emotes, were something they were working on. New non-dancing emotes made it into the game, such as the drinking wine and holding a flower emotes plus a few others, but later during another ball they said it would take too much work to implement dancing emotes because of not only all of the different classes, but also because player's characters all had different sliders moved and that is what made it difficult to add dancing.

I keep telling everyone here in the forums, someone high up in Pearl Abyss is a southern Baptist.  If you don't understand, watch the movie Footloose with Kevin Bacon in it.  

Most of the MMOs just have lousy dance emotes in them.  If we ever do see dance emotes, I will never expect Guild Wars (orginal game) quality but probably worse than WoW quality.  Dance emotes has been a time honored tradition of all MMOs.... unless your characters were just a mess of planes, tanks, spaceships, or other inanimate objects.

To my understanding, all that  is required to add the animation is to have a mocap script of the dance and add the script to the armature (skeleton of a 3D mesh).  It might not be something "everyone" wants but it has my vote. +1
