Hello,

I just would like to point out that making us type in our password everytime we login to play is a major security risk, plus this technology has been outdated now for the last pass 10+ or so years. 
Every other company knows this and this is why they are all heading into passwordless technology but yet BDO Devs seemed to be stupid enough not to understand this security risk/hazard concept in 2023, why?

List of problems as to why forcing your players to type out their passwords everytime they login, here is what happens....

1. Passwords are not complicated enough to pass a really good strong one, as no one is going to remember passwords like this...

So they will make easy to remember short password, that is easy to jailbreak or hack and have their accounts stolen. This is actually a massive problem for mobile phone users.

2. If on the off chance that people do make complicated passwords like this, they would possibly have it saved inside a text file stored on their PC, where hackers can just steal the login file from their PC's and have their account stolen.

3. Also if someone has a keylogger on their PC, another great way to steal information. But then again i think you would have more serious issues then just your gaming accounts, lol! if you do online banking online with your pc. 

And the list goes on and on, as to why having us type out a password every single time into the launcher is a big security risk itself.

I just see all this waste of time & effort by putting all these security measures into your game, but not one bright spark on the BDO team has brought this up is bizaar beyond human comprehension to me.

Also i forgot to mention that you all about promoting convienance, which is what you all BDO people like to preach, but yet annoy all of us by making us keep typing in our passwords, ironic aint it?

Anyways cheers, i hope you allow the launcher to save our passwords because its getting utterly annoying, especially when you keep getting booted or kicked out of the game.

I try not to be to mean, i just get a short temper when it comes to plain stupid things created by people that just dont learn until its too late.

You know that you have the option to add an additional layer of security on top of your password right ? If you concerned use it

This is not security flaw, but yeah every modern software do remember login information and log in automatically, but PA devs are way behind in technology.

So, because of these "problems" you suggest to creat a auto login to the client?

You know that in this case the password still exists, it's just stored in the client. And "hackers" can still steal it from there.

You want better security? Get a good Password Manager!
eg. KeePass (local stored) or LastPass (web based)

I believe if you weren't rude and codecending towards the PA staff, you might get a bit better reception but it is what it is. The odds of someone actually giving two cents about your BDO account using a keylogger is pretty slim or rather non-existent. These people who do this only care about your bank records etc... In which case it's on YOU if you have your device hacked, not PA.

I think PA is doing fine. It would be more convenient if we didn't have to re-type our password everytime we run the launcher, sure... But either way it doesn't make it less secure. If your computer or mobile device is compromised, that's not PA's fault, that's your fault and there's nothing PA can do about that. Two-factor is a great way to protect your account and PA has a means to investigate your account if it gets compromised. You cannot change your e-mail unless you go through customer service as well so it's quite the procedure and highly unlikely anyone is to ever experience issues but in the event you do, an investigation can be requested. This is why using your real name and birth date to be important during account creation because you'll be asked to provide a copy of a legal ID.

I don't see this as security concern and certainly don't see how PA is in the wrong. There's only so much you can do to help protect accounts until convenience starts to suffer. I don't want to sign in using a finger print, two-factor, password and 3 security questions. Imagine all that for a game? lol Plus you only get like 3 attempts before you're not allowed to try again so brute force attacks are impossible. You can also save your computer to your account so that only you can play the game. That's a really nice feature.

Lastly, if you do encounter a security concern or serious exploit, I recommend that you follow the proper procedure by not posting it in the forums but submitting it directly to PA. Posting security flaws and exploits in the forums is always a bad idea.

its just a video game, why would they care so much? They done bare minimum and its enough.
