it is absolutely entitlement an absurd level of it too

I would argue 1 refund a month is too high it should be at most 3 per account like it is with league of legends

Ideally game developers shouldnt have to offer ANY refunds or exchanges and all sales should be final but unfortunately some people feel entitled to change their mind about what pixels they buy

I don't think you unsderstand the context of this suggestion, so I'm here to explain that.

What they're asking about isn't a refund of real world money. It is a refund of pearls, a virtual currency. On top of that, it's a refund reserved for items that have not been used/tampered with in any way. As an example, someone bought weight on the wrong character, but because there's a limit, they can't go back a step and re-buy it (through the virtual currency vacuum) on the correct character. If the limit didn't exist or was raised, this wouldn't be a problem.

Your argument is about this getting abused where the company loses money. How? The refund isn't for real world money, and the absence of a higher limit makes more work for the CMs/GMs which actually causes more money lost due to requiring more human resources to satisfy the refund requests through tickets.

Side note to the post author:
Punopupu, I suggest you incorporate the things I said in the first paragraph to your first post in a concise manner that is easily/quickly read, so that you get less confused commenters.

refunds of pearls spent on items makes sense, I assumed it was a request to refund $$ which is a major problem for any business

I do think it would potentially make more sense to offer unlimited refund of pearls for items but have it be a 48h limit so in the event you buy a bunch of stuff on the wrong charecter you can return it all

a 7 day time limit is too long if your gonna offer unlimited since people might buy a bunch of stuff then next maitainence a massive sale arrives and they return everything and rebuy at a discount.

I'm not even sure if unlimited is a good idea, but a limit of 1 seems too low. If it was raised to even 3-4 per month that is still a big improvement IMO.

An even better change would be a cash shop inventory where items are held until you manually claim them like what Lost Ark has aswell as most other mmorpgs. a cash shop inventory that is family-wide would make the most sense however it would require a system preventing claiming things on inelgible charecters.

every other mmo I have played has a cash shop inventory storage.

Thank you for clearing up this misunderstanding. I have re-written the main post and tried to incorporate some of the things you said. I hope that made my feedback more precise as a result.

WolfRocket, I've incorporated your suggestion in my main post since I think that the idea of a family-wide cash shop inventory is a very interesting idea to explore. I hope that the rewrite of main post has cleared up any confusion, since this is absolutely not about real cash refunds. Admittedly, I was quite confused at first that you would talk about financial damage, even though I did mention the conversion from Acoin -> Pearls, but it's all clear now. Thank you for your contribution!

+1 cool idea, however OP's suggestion would be a good fix too. At least as a bandaid fix. Calling OP entitled over presumptions and a clear misunderstanding tho is kinda dented

The system is fine how it is now, my only concern is raising the limit up from one a month. I go crazy on some of these deals and specials they give and I will say, I regret some of the purchases I make.

As an improvement, I think a good system would be like the old refund mechanic Epic Games used to have, where you're given three refund tokens but only one is regenerated each month for a maximum of three tokens. That way if someone uses two refunds and currently have one token left, that single refund rolls over for the next month and an additional refund token is provided for a total of two.

This would be very user specific rather than just cycling one to three refunds monthly for everyone, this'll limit those who abuse the refund system but still help those who purchased things accidentally or have a regret in purchases after a few days.

I wholeheartedly agree. The system and it's requirements as such is absolutely fine - raising the limit up from 1/month is the thing I am trying to achieve here.

Never knew that Epic Games had a refund system like that in place back then. It sounds quite interesting. Honestly though, and this might actually be the part where I start to sound entitled, I'd much rather have unlimited refunds, instead of being limited whatsoever. However I also can see how a 7-day grace period combined with unlimited refunds is very, very lenient and could be abused to snipe deals. If I had to choose between a Token system like you described or a much shorter 48h grace period with unlimited refunds, I'd rather choose the latter. Before I get nothing, I'd go with the Token system too.

As a concept however, it's a nice idea and it could be expanded upon or worked with in some manner. Thank you for your suggestion/idea! I'll add it to main post.

Steam is a platform with thousands of games and millions of active users, their refund system would drain Pearl Abyss. It's a good refund system for the type of company they are, but that's not something that'll ever be implemented for an MMO.
