OP has bartered more than you, I understand that you don't like when people don't have as much game time as you, however that is irrelevant. They were doing things sub obtimally because they were not given the proper information on how to do things. This is not a "people just dont want to work any more" moment that you and your ilk like to crutch on. This is a case of someone doing things sub optimally because in game tools and tutorials are lacking and ending up discouraged (rightfully so) by the results. Get off your high horse.

You don't do Ship Material refreshes?  IIRC, you can get both brilliants in the same round.

Also, they drop (albeit rarely) from sea monsters.

Brilliant Pearl Shards can drop from Candis, Ninesharks, Medium and Large Goldmonts.

Brilliant Rock Salt Ingots can drop from Candis, Black Rusts and Large Goldmonts.

Can tie these in with sailies so you get mats to sell for coins if you don't want to go for a second carrack (plus, more sailing XP)

3000 barters is ONLY for them to show up in ship mat refresh

normal trade refresh requires 5111 barters

Yes, but without carack even 3000 is hard. Also with 100 barter points you can do 2 x barter mats per day so 2-4 (most time 4) brillinats.

I did ship material refreshes regularly to get all of my gear to date, including all +10 blue gear (I have everything BUT Brilliants).

1 week later or so ("today") I have just tipped over 3,000 barters, enabling access to the occasional Brilliant every 4 hours - my issue.

I killed Candis, Ninsharks and Black Rusts on daily missions to hasten the mats (there were 6 main sea hunting ones, 3 at a time), only scored 2x brilliants over that time (so I still need 29x Brilliants each).

I currently have all 4 Carracks with just about to hit 20k barters.
My gf who started a month or two ago, used her Caravel and got just about 200-300 barters per day (she took her time) but with this new update of x10 barters for any T0 to T3 trades, it went much faster where she could easily get about 300-500 barters per day done.

Yes, Brilliant Pearls/Ingots are the bottleneck for your first Carrack due to the fact you can only start getting them from 3000 onwards.

But consider doing half material resets and half normal resets and use the normal resets to stock up on your T4 and T5 materials.

This way, you will have plenty of materials for your future coin trades which is also a must-have before you upgrade your Carrack.

Because yes, you absolutely need to make sure you have Toro gear before you upgrade your ship to Carrack, because a Caravel/Galleass with +10 blue gear is BY FAR better than a naked Carrack with no gear at all. (I made this mistake, I was inpatient and I paid the price for it, don't be like me. Do not ever buy ship materials with crow coins.)

All i see is Bartering is to hard i did not get enough money and not the ship Mats i need well then you would not have like Bartering when it first came out at all. All they done is make it easyer to get stuff and ship mats and people still complain. I have stop Bartering after getting to Guru 50 with 222496 Barters and if you only sell the 5 and 10 mill mats you get about 750 mil aday from Bartering yes some days you have even better days with some speical. So if you want to spend the time yes it just another life skill and do not expect to get ahead to fast.
