Family name:  Rincosa

Region:  NA

When attempting to exchange level 1 barter goods with Ravinia for a Verdant Black Stone, the exchange is completely blocked because the character's weight limit is exceeded. I have to log in with a different character to do this. What does this contribute to gameplay? I should be able to exchange regardless of weight.

After getting a Lost Trade Goods box, I have to first transfer the box to a storage, then get another character to take the box, open it, and put it back into storage, so I am finally able to load the trade good to my ship inventory at the Wharf Manager. I should be able to transfer it directly to my ship inventory regardless of being over the character's weight limit or not.

I'm sure there are other examples of this block on exchanging items merely because the weight limit on your own character is exceeded. There is already a penalty to movement when overweight. I don't see any reason for a complete block on transferring items between your character and NPCs/inventory like this.

Absolutely.

Any transaction where your weight will go down as the result of the transaction should always succeed, no matter how much stuff you have on you.

This is a good general principle.  You should also be able to exceed your max weight limilt if you haven't already.  You can exceed max weight on the character when getting loot while grinding, but you can't exceed max weight when opening up a lost trade good found while sailing.  A "lost trade good" is 50 LT.  It become 800 LT or so when "opening" it (it doesn't have to make sense) and you can only open it in your character's inventory.  Since this will normally exceed the max weight limit, you can't open it at all.  The only option is to transfer it to storage someplace.

I'm guessing that somewhere in the code it reads ifOverweight = True, all transactions are disabled. This is probably easier than them coding in something that detects if the transaction will reduce or increase the weight.

I do however agree that there should be some simpler way to convert your T1's -> Trade Vouchers, but I guess since it's not something that we are doing often, PA may overlook this suggestion

Hello Derghen,

We've heard your feedback regarding the heavy weight of Tier 1 Bartering items keeping you from exchanging them with Ravinia. As a result, we've decreased the weight of these items (800 LT → 100 LT) during our September 13 Maintenance. To easier trading with lighter loads!
