The August 22nd update brought many great and much needed improvements to the class for both PvP and PvE, however there are further improvements that could be made. This thread covers the skills that need improvement along with details on why and how they should be improved.
◆ Family's Honor
The 30-second self buff for Awakening Corsair is lackluster as it does not provide a significant increase in power. Attack Speed is the only stat that is not typically available while AP and Critical Hit Rate are standard in Corsair's kit. The additional healing effect that is applied by Mists is extremely weak as the health recovered is miniscule in comparison to character health values and incoming damage.
• Increase All AP +20 to +25
• Increase Critical Hit Rate +20% to +30%
• Increase Mist Effect - Recover 100 HP to 200 HP
• Add All Evasion Rate +15%
◆ Heart-catcher Patraca
Corsair's grapple has the slowest activation speed out of grapples; making it challenging to use, however it makes up for this weakness by having a longer reach than other grapples. The cooldown of the skill however is not uniform with those of other classes. Some classes that had a long cooldown on their grapple skill had their respective cooldowns reduced to the standard duraiton of 15 seconds.
• Reduce cooldown from 17 to 15 seconds
◆ Sea Mist / Spare No Quarter!
Sea Mist's stamina cost is considerably high for a skill that does not provide long travel distance or invincibility frames. Skills that have a high stamina cost typically have invincibility frames or have increased movement distance. Spare No Quarter! is another skill in Corsair's kit that has a high stamina cost but offers very little in protection and travel distance. Both skills have their merits, therefore only a slight reduction in stamina cost is necessary.
• Reduce Sea Mist stamina cost from 300 to 250
• Reduce Spare No Quarter! stamina cost from 250 to 200
◆ Entangling Vortex
Entangling Vortex is a fantastic addition to Corsair's kit; giving the class a much more accessible and reliable evasion debuff. However, the utilisation could be improved to better the flow between pre-awakening and awakening.
• Enable the usage of Entangling Vortex (↓+Q) from pre-awakening to transition into awakening
◆ Core: Close Quarters: Suppress
The improved Close Quarters: Suppress (reworked Close Quarters: High Spirits) is a powerful healing skill for PvE, however it falls short due to its lack of a Forward Guard to mitigate incoming damage from monsters. Changing the Core's protection from Super Armour to Forward Guard would greatly improve Corsair's survivability and efficiency in PvE as it would ensure that the player is always healed rather than it only mitigating incoming damage.
• Change the protection from Super Armour to Forward Guard
◆ MIst Effect
The Mist effect that is triggered by Sea Mist, Close Quarters: Charge and Spare No Quarter! play a very minor role in Corsair's kit. The evasion buff has a lower value and shorter duration than that of Smooth Sailin' and other skills that provide an evasion buff (e.g Mystic/Striker - Triple Flying Kick, Ninja/Kunoichi - Smokescreen, Sorceress - Shadow Leap, etc).
• Change the evasion buff to stack with other evasion buffs (e.g Mist Effect + Smooth Sailin' - 6% + 9% for 15%)
◆ Bugs
• Close Quarters: Suppress - Last Attack does not activate after Sea Mist
Buff Succession Corsair E Buff instead dude.
