Doing circles for endless hours is one of main problem but its such as core of the game that probably will never change.
But what would help is we should see the damage numbers. There is no way to see how much damage we are doing. This is like only game from MMOS or ARPG where you dont see the numbers. Imo the combat would be much better and devs should at least balance classes properly the game is so old and there are still classes which underperform heavily and there is zero reasons for that.
Asmongold also critized this, as player you dont have any feedback how much damage you do and what crystals and other stuff do. We are just blind.

How would flashing numbers make endless grinding less monotonous? "Oh I can see thousands of numbers popping up, now grinding is less boring"

Hot take, but repeating boss mechanics in other MMOs is worse than grinding in bdo.

It would only trigger every excessive min-maxer's ego, encourage more witch hunts against some classes, and in the end it would fuel the phantasm of the "perfect grind" and make some people even more intolerant against grind "interruptions", be it through ks, pk, or even the random guy who simply lost his way.
Moreover, devs have these numbers...
And to finish, I don't see any benefit in making the UI even more messy, seeing numbers will not magically make grind more interesting. Players' interactions, on the other hand, can have this effect.

Just like Final Fantasy. Except the hardcore raiding community there is cancerously toxic.

No offense, hes always stated KR grinders arent his thing hence why he doesnt play lost ark anymore js.
He played Lost ark for more then year, he killed Brelshaza and did all horizontal content for the golden horse.
He tryied BDO recently and says that he miss damage numbers and he has no idea how much damage he is doing, he played only few days and quit, didnt like it much, maybe he will try it again but I doubt.
Anyway there should be options to turn damage on /off so everyone would be happy.
