Anecdotal.  I don't think that will be common.  If it is, not a problem for me

It's actually not anecdotal at all, After this released in korea there was mass bans because the koreans way of protesting was actively griefing as hard as they could.

Statistics and facts vs a single screenshot?

I am not even talking about the screenshots, Literally the week of this change being released in korea like 40+ permanant bans happened from people protesting the change. That is not anecdotal, that is a fact.

Guild protection exists

If a player is in a guild and gets dec'd for spot, and the GM cannot offer them the protection slot, it's a pisspoor guild and GM.

I run a guild that has never, ever been 'unwanted pvp'd' by a wardec, despite plenty of "perma decs" against us by guilds that dropped nodes + existing decs just to attempt to bully us.

Literally the only person that can be affected is the GM themselves and if you can't handle that you don't deserve to call yourself one lol.

So just a refresher since this thread is so long, on the current system you can:

Join a guild that is not-ready-for-war, making you immune to wardecs by most PvP guilds.
In this guild, if someone does dec you, you have 15 minutes from the public announcement the dec was sent, to decide if you want to 1. leave, because you don't want to fight and don't care
2. swap worlds, because you don't want to fight, and there are 3 servers you can swap to without even a cooldown
3. call for backup, and turn the tables on the person
4. or ask for guild protection, making the entire wardec null for its purpose to make you leave.

That's assuming even the other guild both

1. wants to send a dec, removing their OWN non-dec status
2. Can even dec you at all

So the only guilds that would suffer from these imaginary one sided bully decs are either sending decs themselves, refusing protection to their members, refusing to back up their members in a fight, or full of entitled people who are not willing to do any of those things, or even just play guildless, but still expect full privileges.
Or the GM is an absent father figure and can't put anyone on protection loool.

Well they must have violated the TOS.  40 is nothing material 

Soo... you just described how you like to grief people in the game? Feeding to mobs, grinding over someone when they refuse to give up their spot... This is a nice example of behavior that needs to be extinguished to make the game overall better.

This is like the Russian approach to their neighbors, if I may give it a political spin. Give up your land! You do not agree? We will bombard you. And it is your fault that we bombard you and kill your people - you should not provoke us by not agreeing to give up your land!

None of the deccs on my guild are over spots.  None have been over contested spots in the last 2 months.  One is from a one man 745 GS who harasses me and done so for the last 10 months.  The other is because "your recruiting messages are too gay!"  

Well, it is fine to ban griefers, isnt it? People who resist the change are vocal that the change is going to make the griefers more powerful... yet the action they are going to take is... griefing? Uhh... ohh?
