Dear MR J

I actually sincerely doubt that he reads this forums, but I will take my shot because the playerbase just has nothing to lose anymore.

Lots of extremely controversial changes have happened with black desert online recently, spanning from Boss Rush, GVG changes, Nodewar changes that are upcoming, and what not. Most of the player base that had voted their concerns on these forums over changes have been against such changes and they were implemented anyways.

My question is, How are we even classing BDO as an MMORPG anymore? Besides nodewars, which with J's plans he's going to kill nodewars too, what MMO Content is there? It's very clear that many of the changes that bdo has had were for the new players. Well as predicted, we know that steam charts aren't an accurate representation of changes, but taking a look, we can say that that huge wave of new players is mostly gone. So now the question is: Why are the changes made for new players staying when the majority are against them, and how is BDO even an MMORPG Anymore?

- We're heading towards 10 years as game. How is only 1 hour of dungeon content per week acceptable? The dungeons were so fun. Yet even now, its barely worth our time/not enough dungeons.

- How is it that, some of the hardest content in the game, is the least rewarding in Black Desert? (Looking at C6-C7 Boss rush)

- No guild Raids?

- No guild PVE content?

- No group PVE content?

- No Variety to PVE? it's only solo grinding? wheres my raids, dungeons, Towers, Open world Events that handom randomly, active bossing, rifts, etc?

- Why Hasn't PVP become a viable source of money making yet in 10 years, with an "MMORPG" of the best  combat content, Let alone actual competitive PVE content. What a horrible take it is, "if pvp was rewarding then nobody would to PVE" is such a horrible take. There's players who like PVP, some who like PVE. Stop punishing your players for their respective play styles and wishes.

.- Being aginst instances is not an excuse to add content. We've seen other games have open world dungeons and what not.

- Caps have actually killed the purpose to play the game. PVE/PVP is all capped, there's no point to push gear anymore. We don't care for the reasoning. This direction MUST stop. Uncapped content that's rewarding in both PVP/PVE must exist alongside the capped content that exists solely to protect new players.

-MR J, I think you can learn a lot by playing other MMORPGS. Play all of them. take all the good, and just put it into BDO and bdo would be amazing. But the current direction of things is just not too hopeful at all.

This really only scratches the surface, there's much more missing from the game, but to be blunt. MR J, bdo is not retaining players because of the fact it's not really an MMORPG anymore yet its advertised as one. This whole game is designed anti interaction, when that is the core purpose of MMO.

BDO doesn't retain players simply because "Solo grinding" being the **only** content is not acceptable after 10 years. MR J can learn a lot by playing other MMORPGS. Black desert Online can be the best game. It has the foundation. Everything is there. The problem is this game is empty. We cant play with our own friends except for grouping up to do pvp without hurting our progression. This game is too punishing on group play in an "MMO" its non sense.

What ever it is, I don't think players care too much for a new class, hammers, calpheon ball, and random solo grinding expansions anymore. Make this game into a proper MMO please. This game is empty. There's no purpose to anything. The issue is not class balance, and QOL fixes anymore. Please just make The game into a proper MMO that can be played with friends and add purpose to gearing/pvping/interacting and this game will flourish. That's the main problem with the game. really.

BIG agree with everything. Some things I already even mentioned in other posts. The game isn't what it used to be and it just went into a bad direction. Several additions that were considered good turned out to be just a wrong move. It would be a miracle if several of them just disappeared. I am not holding hopes on that however.

How is J going to deliver the game from this sorry state? I wonder...

I have stated this before, "Too little, Too late"..

I asked months ago for you and the other partners in content creation to speak up.

So what do we get from PA.. "Ators boots and new artifact"..

What do we get from content creators?!?!?!

SILENCE

Look we had the perfect opportunity to do something right along side of Korea's protest.

We needed everyone out there protesting as well.. stop spending cash for a week or 2.

Stop logging in for a week or 2.

As content creators you have the ability to reach a lot more people than any one of us in the forums INCLUDING the higher end guilds.

In the end a new peice of content comes out and everything is forgotten except the same ole regulars in the forums still complaining.

The only way to get Jae'Hee Kim's attention is a collective bargaining measure without it your words are simply smoke.

All valid points.

Historically the"forced pve grind" was a mechanism to milk the PVP players of pearl items. (this has limited the appeal of pvp players playing the game)

With them essentially giving up on the openworld/immersive theme of the game, they will just put themself into more direct competition with superior games and bleed more players.

The game ever since release has been living off the percieved "potential" for the game to be great/improved (server lagg, siege lagg, lack of endgame meta @pvp), at this point they have almost but confirmed there won't be any "potential" and they can just brand it a "singelplayer grind in circles game".

He just turned his back on a playerbase he's been building for the last 10 years for short term income that new players bring.
Well happy to see it backfired the way it did and looking forward for more bandaid fixes MR. J comes up with

I agree on content creators being silent. A lot of them are just simply enjoying the benefits of the partner program. Even though the partner program does want criticism, It's like talking to a wall because you're only talking with NA's Office of PA which has no power to change the game. The dev team from KR needs hear it and there's no dialogue really. At least on my end, I did try to sway for change a long time ago such as when wizard/witch were running rampant for years but ever since I've been busy IRL and couldn't do much, the second half of it is when you say so much and its ignored for so long what's the point.

I think this year's calpheon ball will be a crucial moment for many players.

Every year I've played so far, I've noticed player sentiment become a little nervous/anxious prior to a ball, like, "what will they announce that will be fresh and interesting? Where does this game go next?" And then after the ball, most players will feel positive and optimistic of direction.

But this year, there have been SO MANY changes in so short a time. Players I speak to are very skeptical and uncertain of the game's direction and are unconvinced that the ship is steered wisely. A little bit of anticipation & skepticism is normal before a ball, but this year it is utterly pessimistic and anxious.

NA has fewer active t3/t4/t5 node war guilds than ever before. Each guild retired makes the rest of the scene even less vibrant with lower variety to possible fights. Open world has fewer player interactions than ever before. The playerbase is aging and becoming more jaded and it feels like newer players aren't bringing new enthusiasm to counter the old folks' growing bitterness or apathy.

On the bright side, I do still genuinely enjoy grinding in circles swinging a sword with a show in the second monitor, and BDO remains the absolute master of this type of gameplay. It just could be so much more than that.
