Succession Corsair needs adressing

I was waiting to see what kind of changes corsair was getting for PvP, after seeing today's patch I'm quite disappointed with PA, they don't seem to understand what direction to take this class or what to do

Explaining the Class issues

Recently Pearl Abyss said that they were going to balance the classes with a clear identity in mind,
so they can perform well on the content they were designed for, the 3 mentioned points were:

-1v1
-aos
-large scale

so lets consider aos = small scale

Succ corsair underperforms in all 3 aspects mentioned above, let's consider a capped environment since pa decided to cap most of the game's content anyway.

1v1s

- Succ Corsair has basically no reliable way to catch anyone, forcing her to rely on FG and SA trades.
- With the point above in mind, most corsair matchups will boil down to trading.
- Any grab class has a massively favored matchup due to how slow the skills are.
- Any SA trade class with good control over the skills and cancels will be able to reposition and win the SA trades.
- Corsair runs out of stamina in 1v1 if all she can do is play defensive and FG trade, this will force out whale skills which opens up for punishment.
- The only classes that will end up struggling to kill a succ corsair in 1v1 are classes that can't pressure her in SA or can't pressure her mobility/FGs.
- However this doesn't mean that the corsair can kill them back, for that she would have to take risky CCs by casting unprotected wave pouts and rabam skills.
- In the end corsair will lose to most classes on 1v1, go even with a few because they don't have the tools to kill them and she doesn't have the tools to kill them unless she and win out against the usually bad 1v1 classes like succ ranger.
- If the corsair tries to be agressive and win 1v1 matchups the even matchups very quickly become losing ones.

Smallscale

- During smallscale there's not enough people that using grab is a death sentence, so our weakness of being easy grab still shines through
- Our kill combo damage is slow FG/unprotected, a full whale combo won't kill anything besides full rbf builds. This makes corsair a fairly easy class to punish if they focus on dps.
- At this scale we won't get oneshot in SA most of the time before we even cast 1 skill, so that's good.
- The class brings to the table a FG recovery debuff and block break, on this scale its easier to keep it on all targets if you're alive, so this is the scale where the debuffs and block break can be most oppressive.
- If fed rage the 100% heal is also very influental in these fights
- However, the class does not bring enough cc or damage tools into the table, which puts her down into a supportive role mostly, where she loses out to shai by a large margin, and to valk, staffs and awake corsair, which can also fill in other roles like ccing and dps.
- She can be compared to awake mystic, but because ccs and engages are more valuable than subpar utility tools, awake mystic ends up doing better in aos/small scale

Large Scale

- This is the point the class should be strongest at, but its clearly not the case since its one of the least played large classes in the large scale scene
- Most players either use it as a full dp class in uncapped or don't touch it all on capped. This is because her slow SA skills just kill her to the massive ranged damage more often than not if cast on the wrong position if you don't have a full dp build.
- Her engage tools lose out to zerker massively, she brings out a single 20 second float with a third of the aoe and no way of reccing the targets.
- Her disruptive tools rely on the block break debuff which is impossible to keep applied on the same target on large scale for the most part, and on the weakest vaccuum in the game (after sorc 100%), which slows for a pitiful ammount of time and strenght.
- Although the FG break on whale skills is good, as mentioned before, casting whale skills can basically be suicide in a lot of situations so it doesn't help out too much
- Her damage is also very lacking if you consider she's not supposed to be an engager like zerker, a support like shai or a hybrid like valk/staff

- A full dp corsair is just a minor annoyance in your raid, so buffing the class on other aspects wouldn't somehow encourage more dp corsairs (which seems to be a concern from people)

GIVING CORSAIR AN IDENTITY IN LARGE SCALE

To summ it up, the current succ corsair has no identity both in what type of content she's supposed to be good at,
but also in the fact she's a tentative at a jack of all trades, with heals, debuffs, damage, engage and disruption, which ends up sucking in all aspects.

PA needs to look at the class and decide once and for all what type of front liner we're dealing with here for large scale.

Engage Frontliner ~ Succ Zerker

If we want corsair to take a role similair to zerker, in which she'll go in first and get a lot of ccs, then the class requires follow up
to her sea stroll float or to her vaccuum. This would be achieved by giving whale song or spiral soak a knockdown.
However, by using sea stroll to engage, she lacks the mobility to then get out, the very slow SA movement will open up for more chances to get hit than for a succ zerker. This could be alleviated by reworking the E buff and prime ocean's allure to self buffs that allow the class to be tankier and stay engaged for a bit longer.

Support Frontliner ~ Awake Valk

Compared to valk, corsair ends up only having 1 party heal and no self sustain, she stays in the fight for less time and can heal the teammates less often.
Instead of better engage tools, the whale skills could be buffed to provide better self healing for the corsair (not only on hit but passively too)
And the E buff and prime ocean's allure previously mentioned could become party buffs shared with the teammates, making the class more appeasing as a support.

Dps Frontliner ~ Succ Drak

Corsair damage is a joke when compared to succ drak and the class can also stay engaged in the frontlines for a very long time due to the obnoxious self healing while casting skills.
To have corsair fill a similair role to succ drak would be quite hard, giving self heals to whale skills would just be a poor imitation of drakania's passive.
And the E buff and prime ocean's allure rework would need to be skills to boost the corsair's damage by a fair ammount.
I would really hope they didnt take this direction.

WHAT WOULD STILL BE WRONG

Even if the class gets an identity in large scale, it would still be way too weak in 1v1s and smallscale due to the lack of ccs

To fix this the proposed solution is to create a prime version of overflow, giving it SA.
A FG on prime wave lash would also make sense.

CURRENT SKILL ISSUES

What was said above and this are separate things.
The current issues with skills focus either on bugs or things that should be changed design wise about the skill.
Nothing will fix the class being bad in all content when her accuracy modifiers are pretty low in general for example.
Nothing will fix the class feeling slow in every content until an attack speed/movement speed self buff is added somewhere.

PRIME SKILLS

Prime Storming Gale

- Subpar damage, it does less damage than some non prime skills, pretty much only useful as an ap prebuff
- No down attack
- Air attack is useless on this skill, it doesnt come out on time to hit any float cc
- FG is nullified during cooldown (but not said on tooltip)
- Way too low accuracy modifier

Prime Storming Surge

- Lowest damage of the prime skills that should be damage related, you removed the cc from this last year and didn't compensate nearly enough the skill, its now just mobility
- Can cause falling animation if you get hit mid hair
- The flow is for the most part useless because its a 1 second cast without protection
- The flow should apply the -dp debuff as well

Prime Wave Pout

- Way too low accuracy modifier

- Flow (Tide kiss) can exploded inside terrain doing 0 damage

Prime Wave Lash

- Some skills make you skip directly to 2nd hit of wave lash, we don't want this. Make it knockdown on both hits or make it to always cast first hit.
- Down attack on both hits would make more sense than air attack on first
- When casting wave lash after riding waves or smooth sailing you can't cancel the dash at any time, it will also give you forwards momentum at the end of the dash, this makes you overshoot your target more often than not. Its very hard to calculate the distance of where to cast the skill because it will not interrupt the dash when you want, you can keep the forward momentum but then it needs to instantly cancel the dash.
- Way too low accuracy modifier

Prime Ocean's Pearl

- As our main nuke I would say this could have a better accuracy modifier, besides that, best skill in the sword kit
- Problem with explosion clipping into walls doing no damage to our targets

Prime Wipe Out

- Like Storming surge it could have better damage since its a SA trade skill without CC,

- Can cause falling animation if there's targets underneath the skill location
- Make it so hitbox moves properly into the air, you can easily get grabbed midskill even though you're above your target

Prime Hydropower (class buff)

- KEKW
- The attack and movement speed feels nice because it makes the sword kit play at a speed that should already be the normal
- AP doesnt stack with our prebuff so its useless
- Resists don't mean shit for this class
- Just rework this skill and give us a 10% movement and attack speed prebuff on some other skill

Prime Captains Order

- Great skill, needs higher accuracy modifier
- Cooldown should be 8 seconds like ocean's pearl
- Problem with explosion clipping into walls doing no damage to our targets

Prime Ocean's Allure

- Complete useless, garbage damage, low accuracy, huge gap, our 3rd eva debuff for no reason?
- Change this skill for a Prime Sea Mist if you want more catch potential, or Prime Labao on deck if you want the class to be a better frontliner

Prime Mareca Jet Stream

- Its the 2nd weakest vaccuum in the game, being only worse than sorc 100% cartians protection. Either make vaccuum stronger or make the slow stronger/longer (its 20 seconds cd after all)

Prime Mareca Whale Song

- Best skill from the whale kit, any buffs would depend on the playstyle you want the class to employ, (dps engager support)
- Hitbox is pretty garbage when vertical terrain is considered, doesnt work well neither up or down hill

Prime Mareca Sea Stroll

- This skill has a massive issue, its too overloaded with different kinds of usefulness but has a very long cooldown. It's our only protected aoe cc when engaging, but it's also our only long distance movement for disengage and the 100% bsr which is the best heal in the game. What happens is that you cant engage with it when you want to use the heal because you need to keep the skill off cooldown. Or then you use it to engage or just as a catch but then you wont be able to cover a good distance for 20 seconds if there's another fight.
- Now, I don't think the cooldown of this skill needs necessarly to be reduced, but the class would require better engage forms and ccs then (by buffing whale song and jet stream). The other option would be to have 100% bsr heal be usable while the skill is on cooldown.

Prime Mareca Spiral Soak

- Now this is probably one of the most polarizing skills in the corsair kit, because the start of it is so long and u have to commit for a full 2 seconds animation the moment you press this skill. Most corsair players hate it because this opens you up for the freest grab ever or you just die mid skill from the cheer ammount of damage bdo has. Essentially locking your use of the skill as a flow to jet stream, which also makes you skip the damaging part of jet stream.
- The skill could use one of 3 fixes, make it a risky high reward nuke skill, by removing the -6 hits for PvP restriction it has right now. Make it a good engage tool, by removing the PvE only restriction on the knockdown. Or make it a better survival tool by adding iframe at the start of the skill cast like it had in the past.

- Better accuracy modifier
- Cooldown should be 8 seconds like the rest of the combo

- Rishing Whirlpool needs to be fully FG
- Pearl Blast needs to be fully SA
- Pearl Blast needs a bit more damage

- PVE ONLY SKILL ~ Wave Blast needs cd reduced to like 8/9 seconds
- Mareca Sea of Dreams shouldn't cost stamina
- Mareca spiral of dreams needs a +10/15% accuracy modifier
- Mareca spiral of dreams hitbox is pretty garbage when vertical terrain is considered, doesnt work well neither up or down hill

The reality of it is that corsair was released to sponsor the brand of pc hardware (Corsair)  + some broken click bait buzz talks on youtube that way bdo could stay relevant within googles algorithm as an mmo to cater new players, this worked super well.

After that PA wont care a damn, they will make some changes here and there to pretend they are listening to the players and checking the data when we all know they dont.

One of the easy ways to acertain this is Global labs, the player feedback from na/eu can now come from there before hitting the live servers but... the global labs have outdated crystals/accesories you can put on to properly have an accurate data for what it is going to be on live servers together with crystal slots from loml questline that are not open by default shows a mediocre care to even let players test classes.

Buffing or caring about older classes will not make them money, instead PA needs constant flow of rerollers so they buy weight+outfits+ celestial horn ( thats still not family wide).

The problem is that succ doesnt' have an identity, not that awake can do every pvp better so I should just play awake, that's completely idiotic...
