I have a strong dislike for AP caps for several reasons. Firstly, I feel that it limits the potential for players to fully customize and optimize their characters. With AP caps in place, players are restricted in terms of how powerful they can make their characters, which can be frustrating for those who enjoy min-maxing and pushing their characters to their limits.
Additionally, AP caps can create an imbalance in the game, as certain classes or playstyles may be disproportionately affected by these limitations. This can lead to frustration among players who feel that their preferred class or playstyle is being unfairly penalized by the AP caps. It can also discourage experimentation and creativity in character building, as players may feel pressured to conform to a certain meta in order to be competitive.
Lastly, AP caps can hinder progression and growth within the game. Without the ability to continually increase their AP, players may feel like they have reached a plateau in terms of character development. This can lead to a lack of motivation to continue playing, as the sense of progression and improvement is a key aspect of many MMORPGs. Overall, I believe that AP caps in BDO have a negative impact on the player experience and should be reconsidered by the developers.
If you made it here I salute you & thank you for your time
Cheers, D
I generally agree with the sentiment myself, especially with both the Deboreka ring and Fallen god weapons right around the corner. This is an update that needs to come for both AP and DP brackets, I believe.
That being said, a major issue with expanding the caps are further solidifying gear disparity and making it even more difficult for new players to participate in uncapped PvP content. There are great capped avenues, but something I've felt is that my gear progression doesn't matter for a large portion of this play experience because uncapped PvP is what's probably going to be "endgame" for me and that's hundreds or thousands of hours of grinding. I believe uncapped PvP is a desired endgame for a lot of other players too.
To properly address your point, it's going to require a very elegant solution so the latter doesn't suffer as a result. I'm not sure what that elegant solution looks like.
