I had this idea that it would be cool if Musicians could buff players for X amount of time, depending on the level of their music skill.
30mins up to 2 or even 3 hours even if the skill is high enough. As the level of your music skill increases, not only does the duration, but the buff strength as well. 1-5 ap, 1-10 accu, 10-50 hp and so on. Adjusted to something that would be balanced.
There could be different types of buffs suited towards PvE/PvP or Lifeskilling depending on which route the musician has taken.
You would need to be in a party with the musician and the player plays a song depending on their skill level for 10-60 seconds for you to receive the buff. This would also incentivise more social aspects as you need to find a musician to buff you and stay in a party for a small amount of time.
The incentive for the musician to buff others could be something like receiving X amounts of XP towards their musician skill depending on the players character level or gearscore level. Or they could have some sort of reward system from buffing X amount of players.
I don't use the instrument system myself, but it got me thinking of the 'musicians' in StarWarsGalaxies back in the day buffing players in the cantina.

I believe New World has this feature. You can play music and anyone within the range of the song can tip the player to get the buff. Or if they're in party with the player they will get the buff for free I think. And other players can join in and play along with the songs. It's been a while since I've played New World but having that in bdo would be pretty cool/fun.
