Current System

Passive Fake Evasion: The Current Evasion in game is a passive autoplay system that kills the immersive-ness and fun of the game. Players could be literally afk, while their characters could be winning a battle by doing nothing. It is only a matter of time until the opponent gets exhausted, and quit, or simply reduce the efficiency of their performance in battle, to the point of simply loosing, among other things. A poor system, of lame "Damage Nullification", falsely called "Evasion", that without animation, mimic "Ultra Instinct".

Suggestion:

Active True Evasion: Should be similar to a Q Block Defense action, that requires activation, but instead of using Shield Points, it would be using Stamina, and an evasion animation, just like the defense stance use a defense animation for classes like Corsair. This way, players would have to activate the evasion stance or use an evasion action (Dodge), and it could either be consuming stamina during the evasion activation, or it could be awaiting for an attack to then evade.

Evasion gear would be increasing evasion rate, and the activation of dodge skills would use the evasion rate to apply the calculation of the miss or hit result. Players can then rotate between Defense, to recover stamina, and evasion, to recover shield points. This method would eliminate the actual overpowered "Ultra Instinct" passive system of evasion, and would make less of an autoplay system, requiring player input in combat. The logic could be applying penalties during the evasion stance, which would be waiting for an attack to then evade, sacrificing things like defense, stamina, and possibly attack. By making evasion use stamina, it also limits the amount of evasion a player can use before running out of stamina, and, potentially limiting the actions that come after, because of lack of stamina.

As a result, the battles would be by far way more realistic, and fair, while the other aspects would naturally be born from this simple dynamic. Rather than approaching targets in a reckless manner, knowing that they won’t be able to touch the current overpowered "Ultra-instinct" evasion character, players would have to make smarter decisions even when the opponents are of lower gear score.

 

Ultimately: If Pearl Abyss still want to add some God Evasion Ultra Instinct, that could be separate to the normal "Active Evasion System".

I imagine that there are mobile games with autoplay because there are people who enjoy not playing at all. I can't blame people for wanting or considering autoplay a "Better Option", but at least i believe that BDO was not intended to be combat Autoplay, and i think many people really join this game because of the engaging player activity that depends on player input.

While the specifics of the idea does requires development, the core concept of manual input for evasion is one of the most commonly use on active combat gameplay, for a good reason. Perhaps Evasion could simply be an action that use Stamina, or a stance that while active, it await for an attack to use the evasion and then it could consume stamina.

However it is, its very hard to approve a game where a real life player, away of the controls, or even dead, could still be winning a battle, just because their character is autoplaying evasion gear, on Ultra instinct. At that point there is no point of playing at all.
