I cant always log onto these forums to complain and shitpost. Sometimes PA actually does something so good that I want to say thanks

I love Hexe Sanctuary. Not just because Shai could do well there, though thats certainly part of it- but because it is imo the best designed and most fun solo spot in the game.

I loved murrowaks, but the spawns are way too slow and boring for the first half of every cycle, and the big enemies are too few and far between. Plus it doesnt pay very well, and I need monies.

Hexe feels like murrowaks levelled up.

For one, there is always a sense of danger, which is important. Without a failstate, completing a task/grind session feels less like an accomplishment and more like a chore. A great many hours in, I now feel fairly safe unless I do something stupid.. which I mean, I play Shai.. so yeah I still die occasionally.

Second, I think the ~10 mob aggro cap is one of the dumbest worst mechanics in this game and a lot of the mobs here exist outside of that aggro cap. It still feels a little dumb when you dont have a portal active and you're waiting for the ordained aggrod mobs to group up but I can deal with that

Third, Unstable Souls. This mob single handedly makes ths spot. Mindlessly throwing out our rotation of abilities like orcs doesnt cut it here. When unstable souls are available, your goal is to stay as close to them as possible so that your attacks hit them, and to blow them up when the maximum amount of enemies are around him. Staying near him isnt mindless either, he is the single most threatening mob of the pack and will probably be what kills you most learning this spot.

Fourth, rewards. This spot pays you for your effort. Not only that, but all of the calpheon elvia zones having a chance to drop the full alchemy stone cup helps maintain a certain level of excitement. Yeah, Ill never see it, but what if I did...

Fifth, rift bosses/"weapons"

This is an all calpheon elvia thing as well, but the bosses as well as their weapons and ancient spirit lights help keep this grind interesting

Sixth, Hexe the witch

Im not even sure you want her to spawn. I think she does increase your trash/hr assuming you get her down quick and dont get run in circles for 5 minutes between a combination of dodging her attacks, the unstable soul(s), and the kamikaze zombies. She can spiral out of control especially at low AP(I started at 285). Even though she is a chore, she helps keep the grind interesting. I used to save ancient spirit lights for times when hexe would spawn and I was on boss weapon cd, that was a neat option when I was struggling

Finally, it all comes together..

The day I decided I loved this spot, I was 294 AP

A Hexe witch was spawning at a gravekeeper where I had a portal, I moved to the next gravekeeper spot, and as I was coming back around a rift boss spawned

The Hexe also spawned in, I believe bringing another portal with her

Before long, this spot was a Hexe, a cyclops, 3 unstable souls, chain kamikaze zombies, a small horde of lemming zombies, absolute chaos and I needed new pants afterwards

it was amazing, the single most fun moment Ive had grinding in this game. ❤

TLDR: nerf hexe why would anybody p2w if the pve is actually fun 😬
