Dear PA, for years years you told us you wouldnt add Dance Emotes to BDO cause it would break immersion and you didnt want to make a Fortnight 2.0. That was always a regretable decision, cause basicly every MMO has dance emotes to some extent and players always love them. But its understandable that you didnt want to go the route of Fortnight and make a big deal of creating unique dances that might not fit the spirit of the game.

HOWEVER on Calpehonball yesterday shou showed as a dance. Only for Shai.....and its so out of place in the world of BDO. It doesnt fit the spirit or the theme of the game at all and it really looks out of place. That its only for Shai doesnt help at all. It gives off uncannyvalley vipes and the way Shai looked crazy is freeking people out a bit. 

At the same time: How can you give only one class something the whole community keep asking for since day one? Thats not even unfair, thats disrespectfull. Not only for the classes that didnt get the dance, but also for Shai. It only shows once more, that you think Shai is not a "real character" but a fun RPG thing to have around. Yes, Playerbase likes overall her fun ways and music making (and its totaly cool with us that you gave that unique feature to everyone now so everyone can join up in bands) but dont reduce our Role in this game to that. 

Making only Shai dance (especial with a stolen dance from another game that doesnt fit into BDO) makes us even more the Clownclass that we already are.

For Dance Emotes, maybe look what you already got? Try to go to the Termian beach festival and you will see every NPC (Humans, Elfs, Shais,Dwarfs and Giants) dance. Not some hyped up episode like the DokV dance, but normal dancing that fits the game. Nobody asked you for Fortnight dances, but give all Characters the ability to clap while stapping a bit from side to side, and other already existing dance moves. Bring dances to everyone, and pls pls pls, delete the DokV Dance from any further implementation into BDO. It doesnt fit and looks really out of place.

Pearl Abyss for years has been making the worst excuses in industry but they hit the top with this dancing.

"to continue the uniqueness of the class in Black Desert" - that statement is garbage, I thought that already all classes are unique not due to: who can dance or not,

"For the other classes that are sad they won’t be able to dance..." Is this a joke ? who is sad ??? classes ???? Oh my f.... God it is US !!! GAMERS!!! USERS !!!! Real Humans that are sad, they could just say" For the other gamers that are sad we say huge f you all"

Pearl Abyss is always listening to some elite minority, always ignoring everyone else: one guy telling some bs about clown yess lets do something about that, Q&A with players most of the questions are irrelevant, nobody is asking them but yeah sure that's PA most valuable feedback base.

Dancing FOR EVERYONE !!!!!!

From observation I think there's a few key points we can takeaway here.

1. They reused the animation from Doke-V (which is fine, I mean why not?)

2. The animation is only good for Shai because well, Doke-V is pretty much all slightly altered Shai models from my understanding.

3. In the beginning of the Calpheon ball or was it mid-way? They mentioned that adding animations was a very involved process especially when you have to use different characters.

4. It seems that all classes are going to get the formerly shai-exclusive musician thing.

In my mind, they have a lot on their plate already and they learned not to overpromise too much because they used to promise 10 things and deliver 2. Now they promise 5 things and deliver maybe 4. With that said, I wouldn't doubt how time consuming it would be to incorporate dancing for each character. For one, you will have to have various different animations for most classes. Since Shai is the first class to be the experiment on every new weird thing, I'm sure that they will use Shai as a test bed for future classes. So yes, I'm pretty sure that Dancing will become available for all classes eventually.

So when will this be? Well let's see... Shai released on June 26, 2019. If my math is correct that's 2 1/2 years ago. This means that all classes should get dancing by Summer of 2024 (optimist) or Summer of 2025 (realist).

Ok, I'm joking. I think the reality should be closer tied to how many classes there are. If you estimate 1 month per class and there will be what? 25 classes by next month? That's 25 months. Sooo, actually that sounds just about right. Well then, you heard it from here first. We'll have our dance-off in the Summer of 2025.  T____T

Until then, you can always join the dark side.....

PS. I hope this doesn't remain a Shai Exclusive for too long! I'm rooting for all of you!

Yes! +1! Some of my favorite memories in mmos involve dancing! From a dance line in town to a dance party while waiting for a world boss to spawn! I get their whole "make shai unique” thing but she’s already unique with the way her class operates. Things like being able to make campfires, music, and do dances should be allowed to be done by everyone!

While I’m indifferent towards this topic, I’m bumping it because Pearl Abyss’s decision to keep this emote exclusive to Shai has bothered a lot of players whose feedback should be taken seriously..

^ I think it comes down to the fact they had the animation from doke-v and could easily implement it for shai but can't for other classes since doke-v might be closely if not identical to shai's rigging system. With that said, they might be using it as an experiment to test the dance system and perhaps gauge people's reaction and see if it's worth investing more money/time into pursuing this.

I think they go their answer. Dancing for all classes! :)

Is the Doke dance even an emote?

So, I was playing SWTOR with my brother last night, and we were starting out as new characters.  There as a whole bunch of new Jedi gathered around an NPC for a starting quest, and one of the players broke out into an awesome random dance to liven things up.  To EMOTE.  

Emotes aren't performances, per se.  It's to allow ANY character to break the ice, shake things up, START A DANCE PARTY, etc.

Glad they're taking a step in the right direction, but, my friends, we will probably have to wait a few years.  I probably can, if they can convince me it's worth it.
