I'm seeing a few posts suggesting to bring back the ability to store silver in storage. I'm here to explain why this is a counterproductive thing to ask for.

The 18th January update brought the unification of all the silver in storage and characters, to be all stored in our characters' inventory, in a family-shared fashion (you access the totality of it through any character).

What this means is that the silver you used to utilize from the storage is now possible for utilization through every character, and without needing to have it in storage. It's all condensed together, ready to be used for everything you were able to previously use it for. In other words, it achieves the exact same outcome as before, but with less steps. It's a more efficient and more compact way to manage silver.

Edit: The ability to not have silver on your characters is still present. To do this, open the Warehouse (through a marketplace NPC or a maid) and deposit your characters' silver to it as before.

Characters and Warehouse silver remains separate, so for those that wishes to empty their silver to easily know how much silver they made after any activity; that's still possible.

I suspect the reason the posts I referenced were made was due to a confusion regarding how this update works, so hopefully I managed to clarify that.

I don't like to have Billions of silver in warehouse/ inventory, cuz it tempts me to buy things I will regret later on. That's why I stored silver in a faraway storage so I do not have access to it. That's my personal issue.

BUT, I fixed my issue and turn all liquid silver into gold bars which can be stored in  a storage.

I agree with your reasons @Equalness.

However it's more about habits and preferences of each.

I, personally, prefer to manager my money out of the CM. I used to manage it on characters, storages and CM differently and now it's a bit confusing for me, I've like lost the control of it.

I'm not asking for the return of the ancient system (I didn't even know that anybody was asking for it actually) and I just adapt.

But it's not for the best, in my case.

Everybody sees different ways of managing money.

Even though your reasons are logic, they are not for everyone.

You didn't read the post, did you? It was a respose to some players feedback wanting it back (and a clarification about how the feature works). Also, in the gaming industry, there's no such thing as "never", so you might want to tone it down with the assumptions.

Yeah I've seen changes be reverted with enough outcry from a community in games before, doesn't happen often but it's always a possibility.

I'm personally loving this unified silver and I hope it never changes

It took me a lot of time to get used with the BDO's money storing system, back when I started. It made sense though, so I was happy with. Being unable to order stuff moved from a town to another without having money to pay for the shipment was... immersive.

But since PA is well on its path of slicing every immersive bit down for convenience and optimization, uh... Okay, I guess. Next on the chopping block is what, weight? 'Cause that's also an "ancient system". Also, deal away with all the city's names in the storage. Let us rename them to "Cooking", "Alchemy", "Enhancing", etc. For convenience's sake!

I have requested to have this thread locked, as it has served its purpose, and it was never my intention to have it treated as an invitation for ranting.
