Do not rework GvGs in the way it was announced!

[...] the game after the Marni Zone change becomes dead and empty, so probably there is o more need for any PvP in this game... just grind, everybody hunting mobs, right? The next day we can grind again and again till we hit max gear and we can quit the game because there is no freedom (sandbox) for PvP to show off what you've learned by playing the game. [...]

I correct something:

"we can grind again and again till we hit max gear and we can quit the game because there is no more utility for high gear since everything is capped anyway!"

😉

Griefer's speech as he cannot be punished anyhow so he feels powerful. That's the devs' garbage they propose by their "patches".

This is what I am supposed to read in the screenshot?

I am not even joking - however I try, the captured exchange does not really make any sense to me.

Despiste the lack of clarity in this pic, I think Oubar tried to point out that he's got to face new kinds of behaviors in game now.

Like we all do...

Not we all. but some of you. But isnt there toxicity in both directions? And as written, if its getting the worst, than its probably because some try now to prove how bad the changes were. But that wont last for long nor forever.

You're 100% right, we all just want BDO Summer 2023 before this dec and Marni patch. It was literally in the best state it has ever been and they obliviously destroyed it. BDO was getting better and better and then this patch put it off a cliff.

Hopefully someone with decision making capacity at PA Korea will put their ego aside for a bit and fully revert this.

I'm sorry but I LIKE THIS MARNI PATCH.....

Greetings Jonneyfive,

First of all, we would like to thank you and all our Adventurers in North America and Europe for the many opinions and suggestions you've sent to us. Prior to the update, we had a lot of discussions internally about the change as it was likely to be a controversial one.

As informed through the September 6th website notice, we have made many updates to address the problem of one-sided conflicts/harassing in the past such as increasing the silver fee for maintaining a guild war, guild protection systems, etc. to try to find a better balance. However, because such problems continued to persist, we ultimately came to the decision to go through with this update.

But, this isn't to say that this is the end-all. We're going to continue to keep an eye on any emerging situations so we can make improvements and updates as needed.

Thank you again for your feedback.

Since this update was put in, many players come and griefed and laugh at us because we have nothing left to do to them, encouraging us to go on PK and they lower their gear so that we go to negative karma, kill us, and break crystals. Many of my friends have already given up on the game for this reason. How do you solve this?

If you want this thing to be ok, put a level of 1,000,000 karma with maximum penalties of 30k per kill, so that we can at least not defend ourselves from this kind of people. Or better, repair the system as it was and put the option of more protection slots for guild members (you have a maximum of 20, let's say it goes up to 30-40.

You did not leave us any possibility to resolve the conflicts. We just get angry and give up the game because of some toxic players in chat and in gameplay no-fairplay.

The saying "and what are you doing to me that you can no longer give war'' has already become viral.

Meanwhile the pvp community has nothing to do besides rat around on arsha with hopes of finding fights, rbf is dead, AoS is a joke, no rewarding content at all. Single player PvE game with no end game for PvP or PvE, nice.

How is this connected to the topic? What did change with the patch? You considered forced PvP on people with low gear who did not want to fight you and the option to have a red character who murders whomever whenever to be the pinnacle of PvP?

I was grinding on crowded spots extensively in the last two days and I must say that my experience was overly positive. When someone came and asked, I went to Marni or had a break, when I could not use Marni, they did or they went to find another spot. There was plenty of interaction, I did not experience "dead" open world.

If the problem of people with the changes is that they do not have enough good-quality PvP, then go and suggest better PvP options, I guess? Your solution is to force PvP on gearlets and that is supposed to be fun?

Well, you should read some reviews before getting into the game, you would have known that it is lacking in endgame for the highest gear :) I started 2 years ago because I liked to explore and understand diverse aspects of the game, not for the grinding itself. When I went into some grinding just 6 months ago, I knew there would be an empty wall to crash into as soon as I get endgame spot gear.

If I interpret your quote in the context of the patch - flexing your "high gear" by killing and forcibly pushing around players with lower gear at PvE grindspots is what you consider the desired endgame? As I stated above: Why don't you suggest better PvP options than wandering around and killing gearlets if your desire is to improve PvP experience in the game?

If the so-called PvP community is so populated and motivated as they state in this thread, I guess they will easily find two-sided guild declarations in the open world. Guilds that want to fight in the open world still can fight as much as they want to. So where is the problem now? From the very beginning, I sense it is more about flexing specific individuals' gear around than anything else.

(Please, do not move the goalposts now by going back to the argument of fighting griefers, as this is another theme and any griefing still left in the game should be dealth with separately at additional levels.)

I have played the game for over 7 years and I never experienced a situation where you intentionally go grind gearlets unless they were toxic against you in some way.

The previous GvG system was mainly a way for an opportunity for very great fights.

I have a very good experience with great PvP once I found a solid opponent out in the Open World. I declared one side and once the war started the other side usually brought some more players to start the GvG even though they didn't want to participate at first sight. After that, both sides enjoyed the time of PvP.

So, the PvP was much more a daily bread and it can't happen in the new system. Now, it's dead. You can try to declare, but why would they bother to leave their comfort zone and fight for themselves? They usually just escape into the private zone. Before, they were into fighting, now they are all passive players around.

I can't understand why the only topic people are talking about is disrupting gearlest while it is just a small portion of the GVGs that happens.
The previous GvG system created a very well-working system where players were pushed to explore the game outside of their comfort zone as well.
Now what? Players have no reason to leave their comfort zone and we all know how these situations work. We usually need some outer push to grow, to get stronger, to get out of our comfort zone, and do something. This approach (the new gvg/marni system) is the reason why the people are so weak and it's gonna be worse over time. People are so spoiled and they can't face harsh reality, not just in the game but in reality as well because this approach is getting to them everywhere.
