We used to have loyalty dyes and they were removed when Kakao was no longer in the picture. Them being removed is objectively anti-consumer and anti-player in nature. It's about time PA made fashion, an integral part of their game currently, free.

I miss the loyalty dyes and there needs to be a better way to dye clothes without a value pack! I support this suggestion o7 !!!! make it a treasure item or something obtainable in game! or even a clothes dye'ing shop with an npc that charges silver.

ive made many of post/topics/suggestions over the years and all ignored for the most part...

ive suggested many of times even if limited colors the abilty to have dyes crafted from diffrent flowers found in game in like a house by workers...

there are a handful of flowers especailly in grana that come in colors and i always thought it would be nice to be able to gather them and use them to craft dyes.....

lol years later ive given up at this point

just adding my 2 cents in hopes PA takes this seriously. I came here from GW2 after 11 years and learning how BDO's dye system works is really cringe. I think it would be a huge win to allow users WAY more freedom in coloring thier gear without needing to swipe. I'd suggest a crafting skill to make dyes and make them infinite instead of single use. Maybe just put exclusive dyes behind the paywall.

And add a dye vendor so we can use in game currency to buy dyes.

Dye boxes are an obselete Feature, Nobody wants to be limited to a color, no matter how many there are. There are so many colors in the game and still not a single one would be the color I use with the Color Palette.

The Color Palette should be free and always available, people will always buy a value packs still for other reasons. They could even add something to fill the gap that merv's palette would leave (Can be literally any other system).

On another note, the Color Palette is so diverse but we still don't quite have it perfect (Paying for an incomplete system), Costumes come with a color already dyed on to them as a base color and will affect whatever color you choose to use. This is most noticable with costumes that are either really close to bright or white colors, and dark or black colors. This makes certain shades either too bright or too dark becasue they're being layered on an already existing shade/color.

Also the color wheel for Hair colors is unfinished. Whenever you dye an armor piece with the Color Palette, the color is saved on the gear which means you have a default starting place if you ever want to dye it off said color. If you open up the Color Palette for hair though, it just defaults to 255, 255, 255, meaning if you wanted to slightly change your hair color, its a guessing game unless you've written it down somehwere. Of course you can save a color, but there's only so many slots. If they had unlimited saved slots it would be better, or they could just make it easier on everyone and have it function like costumes do

On a last note, the Color Palette needs to be added to everything that has to do with color (Skin color, Eye makup, blush, lips, eye color, tatoo, etc). I feel like they were going to and just decided to stop at hair for some reason. The only argument I've seen for skin is that having people running around with hot pink skin just doesn't fit, which I would agree with except they already have these weird charcoal blue and pink skin colors in the game. If it was still an issue, they could just make it skin tones. With the other ones mentioned theres really no problem at all. Although the problem of default color is plagues certain things like tattoos and lip color. The color should be overlayed fresh instead of working off of the color already applied.

I'd love to have unique dye palettes to be unlocked through completing questlines or farming

In fact, I think we should be able to have some cosmetic items to be unlockable through either completing questlines or farming in the game!

Or crafting, like how they do it in a lot of other MMOs

I honestly don't really understand why dyes are even in the shop at all, or if anyone actually buys them... you can either go with Merv's Palette or spend pearls (real money) on a box giving you a random colour variant that you probably didn't want. Maybe they thought people would sell those and buy the ones they wanted on the marketplace instead, but it clearly isn't working one bit as the market is dead in this regard.

If I'm trying to see this from PA's perspective, it should either be rng-based but obtainable for a game-only currency like silver or loyalties, or if real money is the way to go we should be able to buy the dye we want directly. Anything else just does not make any sense for a player.

And this would just be a least-effort solution, you guys have suggested far better ideas here.

Also I have to add, as someone who can't keep paying for a VP all the time, not having your dyes visible is actually demotivating and I wouldn't be surprised if opening this up to free2play players will have a positive impact on player retention.

(OT: I 100% agree on eye colours! They suck :S We need better options or be able to choose freely)

100% Agree.
Dying outfits and making my characters look cool is one of my favourite things to do.
It's a lot harder to justify dropping that $$ I rarely have, knowing I can't even play with the colours for free.
Making the Merv's Pallettes changes on an outfit permanent would make loads of folks really happy! Even if you only have the Pallette for only 24 hours, you can dye all your clothes and have it stay that way. You want to change the colours again, you get another pallette. Making it a weekly quest reward or loyalty thing would be awesome.
