When cooking I use the spongy teff bread which is 3x better than the regular. So the King of Jungle burger  requires 4 teff bread. So using 2 spongy teff bread should cover the requirements of the 4 teff bread, but it does not work. It still requires 4 spongy teff bread. The same goes for the pickled vegetables and using the special pickled vegetables. I am not sure if this is meant to be or if it is a bug. If it is a bug you might have to redo all the cooking requirements for using the special dishes.

There's a ton of work to be done. 

Spongy teff bread is the same rarity as regular teff bread and therefore uses the same amount. Pickled vegetables does not have this issue.

So I got it figured out. The item only works if the color is different from each other from the regular item to the special item.. They have all the tiers color coded so you can tell what item will work or not. That means that it is not a bug and they won't have to do a lot of work since it was working properly. That is still odd though to make the item and special item the same tier when it is a special proc (speaking of teff bread). So maybe PA can change the tier of spongy teff bread?

All of the base recipes for Valencia Meal are like this.  Teff Bread/Spongy Teff Bread, Dale Palm Wine/Mild Date Palm Wine, Fig Pie/Sweet Fig Pie, Freekeh Snake Stew/Thick Freekeh Snake Stew.  They are all Green rarity so just count them as extra procs but you can not use less of any of them.

I wish all recipes had a variant with Special ingredients though. I can use 1 Special Wheat instead of 6 regular ones when cooking Beer.

But I can't do "the same" when it comes to cooking Vinegar, as all ingredients are 1. So using a special fruit over a regular npc bought strawberry is useless and a waste of time. (Specially if you have a farm growing them.)

Been there, done that. Bred Fire Flake Flowers until I got Magical, only to find out I can't use Special Fire Flake Flower to make Essence of Enchantment :D

And I dont really see a point in making a rare tier for teff bread.
