Isn't that the whole world works.  We leverage our decision making on x to y value.   Maybe walking on red or runnign the stop sign is a no-go.  It gives you a hig chance of getting into an accident.   The rationale is that you avoid risky things because of a high chance of going broke, accident or dying.   Like buying boardwalk when you have 50 bucks  on your name in Monopoly after the transaction and the next roll of your dice has a high chance of landing on the other player's properties.   Also that is 200 for collecting., but yea...

That is why insurance companies makes money, some people have riskier options they create in their lives.  Let us face it some really have bad decision making in their lives, in regards with relationships, investments, education, gambling, etc.    Some players in this game think lottery is profitable Megamillion $383M odds of winning is 1 out 303M.  80M dollars "PROFIT". 

Now when we are talking about GAMBLING it is fast pace.  Once you put in the table the "rewards" are fast.   I think most people that follow certain safe driving, or decision making  doesn't make outrageous odds of getting hit by a meteor.  The values  is almost improbable.    The odds itself of getting into an accident is pretty rare per miles that is why a lot of insurance companies are making serious MONEY.   Unless of course you are one of those guys that have insane insurance premiums.   This is why most rationale people that follow safe driving get insurance because of these high risk drivers. 

Sure. There's no difference between : 

 - using money to buy a game, a car, to then use it

- using money to participate in a rng system.
