What? There's a DLC grade patch every 3 months, there are changes every week, reasonably sized updates every month, and each expansion are bigger than the previous and bigger than any other game has ever made. The expansions are literally the size of a full game. BDO is the size of half a game since 2016. What FF14 releases in a year is more than what BDO released since the remastered edition.
The reason why some people complain is because they spend all day every day playing FF14. Go outside, mingle, make friends, explore the world, grow a garden, learn a new language, have kids, do something else but play MMOs all day everyday. There's no reason why you should be left doing nothing in FF14 unless you spent well over 10,000 hours playing it.
Cool story, then why OP isn't playing FFXIV since it's supposedly superior and so full of content.

Just to keep players occupied during the content drought. And no recycled Pot Piece and a new season is not content lol.
They could make it so it takes 180 days of killing 3000 mobs or 360 days of filtering water everyday for the 2nd one.

Yes you do. Unlike many other mmorpgs, all the content in FFXIV remains relevant thanks to roulettes and syncing.
And no, the elvia bs is the laziest form of content known to man(hurr durr same exact map and mobs they just hit harder now and rely on some kind of gimmick), it likely only exists because they are absurdly behind schedule on the land of demons region. Couldn't be a more obvious bandaid if it tried.
There's literally no world in which this game even remotely compares to FFXIV as it pertains to consistently updated content.
