There seems to be not enough cooks to keep up with the demand of meals to supply to the leeches who sell imperial boxes. At the rate things are going it seems like in a month or 2 if we don't get more cooks the meals for guru boxes will be at max price for profits. Now Imagine if we did not have the Oasis Event to give us those cheap 1 silver meals. The cooks will be making mad profit and the prices of meals will rise so high that if you don't cook yourself there is no profit in doing imperial cooking delivery. If the Oasis event ends I predict that there will be more cooks since the meals will sell for a very high price. The event has been going on for over a year now since we got hit by the plague and I don't think the event will end until the world gets a hand on the plague. I might be wrong here since I am assuming that the Oasis Event is ongoing because of the plague. I hope the event never ends since we all got so used to it but if it ends I hope PA won't take everything that is in the event out. Like the gear and the compass, I know for the compass it will be unfair to those few that got the unlimited compass. I don't do sea content except for Vell but just added the compass for the land part. Tell me what you think about what should stay and get removed if the Oasis event ends and if you think my assumptions about the meals are correct or not.

It really isn't that hard to get your cooking skills up.  Venomcraft is my cook and she doesn't make meals to sell in the CM.  I make Vinegar, Pickled Veg., and Good Feed.  The vinegar gets used in the pickled vegatables and good feed is for my pets.  Only the pickled vegatables get turned over to the Empire.  Why would I want to sell them in the CM?  At present she is artisian level.  The Oasis Event has been running since I joined the game 6 months ago.  I was told by other players there is no end date in sight.  Frankly I would miss my Oasis Chests. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Meanwhile a friend of mine is playing this on PS4, and he doesn't get a lot of events.  He was shocked they got the Halloween event over on the console network.  The consoles are being ignored greatly and he is a cash cow compared to me.  He bought the Master edition whereas I got the basic, he has money to blow, but says there is nothing to spend it on there.  After getting his first character up to +60 he stopped playing but logs on each day for rewards and hopes for something new.  So the PC version can be neglected a lot worse, such as it already is disregard on the consoles.

I think there are fewer active cooks these day, in part, because of the Oasis Event. I know this is certainly the case for myself.
It's been a nice event, but the problems/laziness in the community it's created is starting to become more obvious.

Gathering meat - I use the foxes just west of Heidel they drop 2 or more meat, it takes me no time at all to gather the meat I need.  However I do purchase the flour in the CM.  Seems to be plenty of people making flour for me to buy.  I also hunt up by Velia and hunting is slower but I have to gather the meat, if I want the experience.

Back to this topic of an end date.  I haven't read anything about them ending Oasis anytime in the near future.  I know from my friend who plays on PS4 (see prior post) they have no Oasis event there.  I was talking to him about the Oasis chest and he was completely in the dark.  Consoles are without an Oasis event and PC is perpetual.  If they plan to remove the event, another will just take its place.  Meanwhile keep some good replacement gear on hand and play like there is no tomorrow.

Also gathering/cooking in general has been down bad, not because they've been nerfed but because other activities have been buffed. Why gather and cook when you can afk barter for almost the same amount? Any more active, then you're better off grinding.
