Oasis Event & Cron Meal Shortage & Panic: We already have a magical shard shortage, PA gonna add a food shortage too?

As of today, 11/4/2021, there are approximately 100 thousand POs up on Simple Cron Meals, 90 thousand POs up on Exquisite Cron Meals, and 80 thousand POs up on Seafood Cron Meals. Since March 2020, the vast majority of players have been using the Oasis Meal as the bread and butter meal for all sorts of activities ranging from life skilling & PvE to PvP. Many players have only played during this period where such resources were available. Just like there is an extreme shortage of Magical Shards, how do you plan on addressing this food shortage or do you expect us players to go out and make these meals ourselves....

I noticed last night, I had some Akum +15 armor hanging out for a long time in the sell tab  of the CM.  All the armors sold out.  Poof!  Might be time to invest into a weapons workshop in Duvencrune about now?  I don't know, maybe just a coincence, and I am putting too much thought into it all.

Have fun!

They don't need to address the shortage. If the meals sell, players will make them. And of course, if you need cron meals, you can always make them rather than buy them. It is quite possible that many players will stop using cron meals and instead use worse food, but that's how the game was before.

Honestly, I'd say that PA screwed up by having an event like Oasis going for so long, with stuff like practically free cron meals being given out, since that's really not how the game is supposed to be (and PA likely never intended for the event to go so long, but since they'd claimed that it was going to go until COVID died down, they kept it going). And I expect that it's quite true that a number of players will complain about not getting this stuff for practically free anymore, but it's not like any of it is actually necessary, and it's not like it's not possible to get it anymore. It's just that you have to either actually pay for it or make it yourself.

Nothing lasts forever. And it's time to cook our own meals by ourselves. And if one can do it, so do I. Ofcourse if I have the wish to. I still keep my non-oasis food stored at my fam. inv. stacked and well supplied with it. ;) I was surprised this Oasis event lasted longer than I imagined.

Just to add: The compass was the only thing I could potentially keep handy in my "pocket" from the Oasis event. However... If I have an excellent sense of direction, why should I get it? I don't actually need this. This event has to go. Actually it had to a long time ago. And I explained in a different topic in short why already.

How much does a compass piece cost on the MP?

I don't believe the cost is an issue, it is the wait time for a player to purchase one with pearls, and sell it in the CM.    The compass only costs 50 cents and lasts for 2 hours. I don't even see the compass listed on the CM, but looking at the dyes that sell for 50 cents, most are listed at 22.4 million silver.

Basically just as Value Packs can be sold on the CM, how often would you expect some new player to blunder in and drop it into the CM?

Yes, it was a mistake to run Christmas on loop and expect some players would not grow accustom to it being there.  But players need to grow up and understand, there is no fat man in a red suit going to put a pony under that tree.   There are bound to be more events ahead.

Have fun!

It was running for so long we got used for it to be almost feature. It is sad to see it go, it was nice QoL help. But this also means life skillers will earn a little bit more cash on the side, which is fair, especially since Valencia grind spots are now so lucrative grinders wont have issues buying foods and compasses if they want to.

Calm down skippy, The reason there are so many PO up are players trying to beat the market curve and some that had cought this before others bought out the market at low price. If memory serves the cost of Cron meals are between 900-1.4 mil per that was the avg, market cap was around 2 mil I.e. the ever famous PA X+Y+Z= >market cap. So as soon as the market cap is reached you will see meals on the market.

Also i would like to point out that the removal of this oasis event will finally be the begining of a return to a healthy market. For almost 2 years you have had market low for all life skill products everything that takes to make meals like Knights rations, Arehaza, mediah are all at a all time low do to players buying the 1 silver oasis cron or simply cooking crates.. This effects all the base mats as well due to it being cost prohibitive to sell them at bottom $$$ players stopped life skilling becouse it was not profitable or it made more money just to crate them (soon it will make more money to sell them again). Not to mention the all time low cost of anything like Armor @Tri, Boss weps and all the stuff that you can buy at the vendor for 1 silver that boss alts used (that had always been purchased in the market) A good example was the now removed(boxed) up to +15 Krea and Rosar weps that spent 2 years as Devor mats these were gen used as enhancment FS'ing then sold at tri or tet for use as bos alt stuff this also included Armor.

All of which used to have a MUCH higher value than the current price listing even simple things as Water for the soon to return Desert D-buff though you may want to spam messege's of OMG the sky is falling to me and many other veterans this is a final return so some normalcy in BDO and hopefully a return to a lot of players that actually enjoyed the life skill side of this game. Bringing in profits always makes people happy with all the updates on the Grinding side with money now flowing to all parts from beginer to advanced, supporting our life skillers with our silver and in turn they can buy things they want so to me this is a WIN WIN.....
