An Auto-Path is a fixed route they can easily auto-sprint a horse at game breaking speeds to make sure there is ZERO collision. Its been broken since this feature came out. This has gotten beyond lazy. A modder with the code could fix every single one in a day. They can afford to take the sales of Mount Skill Change coupons from just ONE DAY and pay a programmer to fix this!

I'm tired of spending money on a live service game that doesn't fix basic mechanic breaking bugs. Auto-Sprint needs fixed NEXT WEEK!

Looking at your statement, you clearly have no experience with coding. Let me assure you that this is not something that can be fixed "in a day". This is coming from someone with a lifetime coding experience.

Now I don't know how exactly they coded the auto pathing, but playing the game it's quite easy to guess how it approximately works: Across the world, they placed nodes across all traversible paths. When you click a place on the map to create a path towards a destination, the game calculates the shortest route over these nodes using the A* Algorhytm.

Now when you auto-path, your character or mounted character will use his/her basic movement (or sprint in case of auto-sprint) to traverse across these nodes. This usually goes fine, but sometimes when nodes take sharp turns (such as near bridges), the limited rotation speed of your horse while sprinting will cause it to take a wider turn than possible, resulting in it hitting an object off-path.

The only way I see them short-term fix this problem is to allow instant turning while auto-sprinting, defying the original movement rules. But even then, when do you want to trigger the instant turn? When auto-sprinting, you don't exactly follow the nodes since your horse sometimes zig-zags around in an attempt to stay on path.

If your answer to this is "Always have instant turn stay active", then the auto pathing will look incredibly funny and ridiculous. Imagine your horse auto-sprinting up some narrow staircases at full speed.

So yeah, this problem is not that easily solved as you think.

A train is on a set of tracks increasing the speed on the track doesn't change the track.

They need to lay better tracks.

Then run those tracks back and forth at game defying speeds to ensure the track is laid properly.

As far as looking silly, its auto pathing, which means people are typically afk while it auto drives to the location. Function > Fashion

The route is fixed, however due to "muh visions" PA have, mounts have this laggy speed/direction change, which causes them to fall from path if it's too sudden at high speeds.

Obviously a very easy fix would be if they would have proper speed/direction controll, but that would be too 200IQ.

There comes a point in everyone's life when they have to accept they cant do everything on their own. If they need us to submit every single one as a bug then so be it  JUST ASK. And we will provid them with every single place that stops auto path.

Just come out and say:

Dear, BDO Community in order to fix Auto-Spirit we need your help please provid us with the following information: What city was your starting location & destination, are your settings Exact or Smooth, and provid a screenshot.

Done. We will do it.

LETS CROWD SOURCE THIS FIX! LETS GOOOOOOOO!

They could make it so your horse slows down more on sharp turns.  Doesn't seem to difficult to me, but IDK about game coding, but it seems simple enough on the surface.  Just make the horses slow down when they approach sharp turns.
