Hi its your friendly Grinch here once again with a reminder that the christmas decorations cause massive performance issues in cities and have done so for years now. Surely there must be a better way to celebrate christmas other than ruining the game for those that do life skilling in and around the cities.

Heres a picture because pictures are neat.

This is taken while standing completely still inside my residence in Heidel. No character movement and no camera movement.

Those dips in GPU load results in 5-7 fps ingame. Sometimes they last only for a few seconds like the graph shows and other times they can last for over a minute making even simple tasks such as taking items from your storage very hard to do.

A similar dip in CPU load can also be seen but theres no change on memory or disk usage.

PS. I want to stress that this is just a reminder because PA knows about this issue from me and many others reporting it to them through the proper channels years ago aswell as yearly posts such as this one.

Nah, some ppl wanted those decorations despite the performance issues are know since years, no f was given so far, and they will be removed in a few week anyway, nooen cares.

They devs are already moved to dokeV...

I think the Christmas decorations are beautiful. It's the best of any MMO, with all the details in the cities. It just belongs to Christmas time. The problem must be with your computer, because I have zero problems and I have a very simple graphics card (GTX-1650).

I've played since 2016 and it is 100% an issue with the game as confirmed by many other users.

I would link you my previous years forum posts regarding the same issue but when PA took over both old forums were deleted.

Heidel next to Lara is the worst offender

In reality, the bug that creates problems is approaching the doors of the houses, if you run without entering against the door you have a noticeable drop in fps you and those around you, if you enter quickly, however, you can hear the drop in fps, at least in the nearby, therefore throughout the city.

Indeed, and it appears to be gone after today's hotfix.

Tested the residence door thing with a guildie today and neither of us had any fps drops. Hopefully it is the same thing thats been plaguing the game for years and is now fixed once and for all.

I've not been spending a lot of time in Heidel last ~5 days due to new years and lvling season char though but if I do run into the issue again I will make sure to post it here or in a new thread next christmas if it comes to that.
