Hello to all players from Ukraine!

I am a BDO player from Ukraine. As the whole world knows, Russia is currently waging war against Ukraine. Because of this, many players no longer want to continue the adventure on the RU server.
It would be great, first of all from a moral point of view, to develop a system for transferring the accounts of Ukrainian players to the EU server who wants it. That would be fantastic and right!

Of course, I know that the transfer is not possible now and that's right. But the war is a super extraordinary event. I think Pearl Abyss in this case can develop a special system for this.
This is important for many players! We have been with BDO for 6+ years and we want to be further, but we can't for reasons beyond our control.

Also, Russia is becoming a closed country, blocking various resources, the devaluation of the ruble and much more on the horizon. Ukrainians are not part of this, we have chosen Europe and now we are defending it.
I hope for understanding and support from the civilized world.
Thanks.

Homie, you're attempting to bring politics into a South Korean MMO. I honestly don't think they care or even want to get involved and I don't think they're going to be keen on just a mass transfer. It imbalances the already extremely poor optimized servers. It'd make for a poor experience for the existing playerbase and the new playerbase coming in.

I don't want to get into a debate on the merits of Ukraine independence vs Russian influence because it doesn't pertain to the topic at hand. PA isn't based in either country. They don't have a dog in the race. Transfers to datacenters aren't just copy/paste. And the ramifications can and usually do cause huge problems for the existing playerbase. There's metrics and there's statistics that need to be generated and with the influx of more players on one datacenter, they would need to either allocate more physical servers (which is costly and the hardware is hard to get due to shortages) and they would likely need to upgrade their ISP lines (which is also costly). On top of that, you're stressing the servers mroe and causing an already poorly running netcode to be further run into the ground which creates a poor user experience to the already existing playerbase and the players that would be coming in. In this situation, everyone suffers, including PA as they would have to purchase expensive hardware and wait for the lead time of 3-9 months for racks to become available.

I feel for you, but you can't expect something like this to happen with a wave of a hand. These world issues aren't going to resolve themselves overnight. It's better from a business standpoint to adopt a "wait and see" measure due to the high overhead for integration and support.

Ah, this troll again. How many times does the mods have to delete your threads before you stop?

First, I'm not a troll. Second, don't say "attempting to bring politics", because it is war, not politics. So they say in Russian "society". The whole world sees the result.

Why PA cancell third stage of RU vs EU cross-server event? Because many Ukrainians could not take part in it and the PA immediately recognized it.

Let's talk about balance in this case, okay. There are not so many of us and some of them will be on the RU server in the future.
Russia as a state will fall into the abyss, this is just the beginning. Over time, PA will get out of there (in case of business).
It would be logical and correct for the PA to respond to this situation. They keep saying "we care about players and trying to bring best service", let them show it now.

There is one more point :

For example, the probable loss of access to the game, since Russia has already begun to block many services.
This reason is not so much political as more technical.
TS, I advise You to write to technical support - both RU and EU, as I did.
There is an opinion that just posts on the forum will not change anything.

I support transfer idea and wish to use, but mainly for another reason.

What do you think war is? It's politics. Why do you think war is started? Because one country wants something the other has or wants one country to stop doing what another is doing. That's. Politics. And what you said was politically motivated. You literally said that the Ukrainan people have chosen the EU. Last I checked, Ukraine isn't part of the EU or NATO. You want to be brought from RU servers to EU servers because you're Ukrainian and you think you're part of the EU. You literally turned it political with that single sentence.

You realize that the "world" isn't blindly for or against you right? Just like how life is, countries are fragmented in their support. You're throwing out propaganda. Stop it. You're being part of the problem. Every country that is talking about this is LYING to gain favor/support. That includes Russia and it includes Ukraine. The world isn't black and white and it's not for or against.

Alright, you want to go there, lets go there. Russia isn't going to fall into the abyss. They have MASSIVE stores of oil and natural gas. They control the Syrian pipeline that feeds Europe. They're a rich country in raw material. Russia also survived two world wars and however many civil wars/coups. They survived the burning of Moscow when Napoleon invaded (the Russians burned their own capitol to the ground). They survived Stalin and Lenin's purges. The Russians have one of the largest standing militaries in the WORLD. They're a permanent seat on the UN security council. They're the third largest arms manufacturers in the WORLD. They have extremely trained and motivated divions of infanty, calvary, armor, and air corps. They have the LARGEST store of nuclear armaments in the WORLD. They'll survive this.

To answer your complaint directly as to why they likely won't do what you're asking; MONEY. In order for PA to bring over x amount of accounts from RU to EU, PA would need to allocate servers and racks. We're not talking about 1500 dollar desktops. We're talking 150,000 dollar servers. One rack holds about 20 servers. That's 3 million dollars. Then you have to get ahold of the servers. Which there is a MASSIVE lead time on production due to scarcity and the prices are much higher due to that as well, so they're likely paying closer to 200,000 per server. Then you need to integrate those servers with their tech. So that takes network engineers. More money. Then they have widen their bandwith which means talking to the ISP and getting more lines feeding to them. That costs easily 30k for the work order and 2-4k a month for the service. Then working out the best hopping between backbones and route tracing. Then they have to worry about population balance of the servers. They have to make it so the existing players aren't negatively impacted and they need to make sure that you're not suffering from undue latency or dropped connections.

It costs A LOT OF MONEY and A LOT of time to do what you want them to do. Given the relatively low population of players, the overhead doesn't match up with the return on investment. Businesses exist to MAKE MONEY. Not give a war torn country server migrations. Even if they decided to do it, it would take upwards of 9 months to a year for it to be live. Your country might not even EXIST by then. Hell, no country may even exist by that point. No business is going to do anything out of the kindness of their hearts. They exist to make a profit to show their shareholders and uphold their duty as a corporation. It sucks, but it is the way it is. I feel for you, but you're not looking at the cost/labor vs potential return on investment. PA aren't humanitarians and this isn't a charity. They need to see value in something in order to do something.

In Russia, Instagram and Facebook are blocked, and the company Meta is generally recognized as extremist organization) Youtube next? Abyss is near.

PA should give a chance to leave for Ukrainians who have nothing to do with this chaos. In general, how long does the BDO still exist in Russia?
