Now that Elvia Zones will be integrated into normal servers, it could free up a channel or two to make PvE. I think it would be worth doing for PA, even as a trial initially for a month or so. I feel it could give them some very valuable information. I know personally - try as I might - I can't convince some friends to play Black Desert, simply because of the open world griefing opportunities available (as rightly pointed out in an above post, attacking afkers is not PvP). A PvE server I may convince them to try the game again more thoroughly, and I feel others would be more likely to do so too.

I guess you missed that part  on the live stream where they said a 1 hour PvE only server is coming?  I take it they mean to limit you to 1 hour per day, I don't know why, but I assume they have their reasons.

Have fun!

No, they will not be integrated, as already mentioned, it will only work on a "private" channel and only for 1 hour.

Why? Because it is impossible for the player to choose between normal zone and elvia zone on same channel. How would this work? Player enters the zone, chooses Elvia and starts playing, in 5 minutes another comes and chooses normal server, and then what? To the first player Elvia mobs will turn into normal?

Long time ago they speak about private zones. So probably they changed their mind and there will be private zones instead of a private channel.

By phasing. That's how it will (and should) work.

In the first place they originally had planed it, so only ppl, who completed the relevant questline would see the elvira zones. It's just that PA devs was being like, meh, too much work, and just converted the half of the servers to elvira as the easiest solution for lazzy developers.

I heard that, and I think it will be a great addition if it's released. But that is something very different than a PvE server, and I don't think would address the OP's topic of protection for afk lifeskillers.

Basically CatDK is correct about phasing, they do this with the bosses already.  The first boss fight (Red Nose) can be seen by other players but they cannot interact with their fight.  It is between Red Nose and the player who summonned him.  The idea would be a simple flag would get added to the account, the game would know who gets the better loot and the more damage.

If they screw it up, you could see low level players "saving the day" by killing high level entities meant for the Elvia player.  That won't happen here correct? lol

Have fun!

No, you're likely confused. I believe that is not correct (I think it's about 2 hr 29 min on the Ball broadcast where Jaehee speaks about it).

I think you'll find the Eliva zone changes and the one-hour private monster zone are two different things.

The way I understand it, you would be alone for an hour (off limits) to other players.  How would that not work?  I don't know where all of you are finding massive amounts of PKers. I put one of my characters to riding in the country and sleep for 8 hours.  If you are running the streets of Heidel,  north to south, then you really should find a better place.  North end of Heidel is a large PvP arena there.  I walked through there and got smacked by two others fighting each other.  They didn't even mean to hit me, they were using the arena exactly as intended.

I honestly don't get hurt on a daily basis by players in this game.  Once in a while I see a dead player and the horse standing over the corpse on the edge of Heidel and think, "They are going to be real mad when they get back online in the morning."  but then it stayed there for over two days!  It has me wonder, if the player sufferred heart failure at the keyboard.   If it was me dead there, I would be back online in 4 to 8 hours, and hoping the horse didn't suffer.  Even Calpheon had a better stretch of road to train on.  But most likely I train horses in the countryside of Duvencrue.  There is nothing but deer and bunnies on those long mountain trails.

I don't AFK fish as often as I use to, but their is no way you are getting killed fishing... unless... do you fish in the Rumbling Land?  If true, then what the heck do you catch there?

Have fun!

I think that is probably unlikely, due to how messy it could get. Your own critique is a good example of how it could go wrong.

I imagine the phasing CatDK is talking about would be more like the Season Server Rift Echoes. Other games, like Elder Scrolls Online for example do this extensively and very well, so I assume it should not be too hard for PA to implement.

In any event, neither really helps AFK lifeskillers.

Oh it could possibly work fine, for an hour. However an important issue is that afk lifeskillers such as Trainers and Fishers (as the OP specifically referred to) often afk for extended periods of time (e.g. overnight). It's likely there are more of these afk lifeskillers than the ones that do so for an hour or less. As such the one hour private monster zone is likely to miss the mark if seen as a solution.
