Heh sad news, though I never liked the american publishing company due to how they started the whole censorship thing in games. Of course they reversed their decision later on but the fact that it existed was a problem in itself. Well, if there is no more official servers then that's that I guess.

To be honest if a company comes in and buys the rights to Tera and changes a lot about the game they wouldn't be able to save it. It's an old game, too much work would have to be done to save it from what I hear and you would be better off just making Tera 2 instead. Not to mention that due to the dumb backwards EU privacy laws that seemingly applies globally, any company that wants to play the hero will probably not be able to recover player accounts and so everyone would have to start over unless there's some type of loophole that can be used. So they would lose a bulk of their audience afterall, who would ever want to restart the same game after investing so much money?

RIP Tera, you served your purpose in the MMORPG world, but I don't see you getting life outside of private servers. Maybe PA could take advantage of this and give Shai a lot of love to try and grab the Tera audience but of course, Shai got nerfed so I doubt they will even consider putting a lot of costume / de-censorship  / improvements for her. Missed opportunity I think. I get there are other classes but Elin but you know, Tera is as much Elin as Final Fantasy is Miqo'te (cat girls).

i can understand company fall in grindy trap, hard to balance class, inflate the number class, fotm class, made waifu class, try p2w, spam loot boxes

but you really need a very high level of incompetency to remove good and popular feature of your game, it is what blue hole did removed aliance, the first noob island, baldera

we critic and troll pearl abyss, but at least pearl abyss is not stupid to remove their content

i feel embarassed to be in situation where i talked black desert in tera forum where i said tera had better future than black desert in 2015 to current situation where i talk the death of tera in black desert forum :^( 

tera 2 future is dark with current blue hole studio team, the original blue hole studio who make 2012 tera left since long time

Im sad to see it go, it was the best action rpg Ive ever played in its prime

I legit enjoyed putting on some music and fighting BAMs who could legit one shot me or damn near. It felt super engaging and rewarding

at some point they really jumped the shark though... The last time I logged in the open world was dead, everyone just sat in town in a queue for something, leveling was a short and entirely solo experience. You could engage as many of the most end game BAMs as you could pull at a time  and not experience any risk of dying. Combat was just spamming huge aoes while barely actually interracting with your targets..

but black desert's open world is still alive(ignoring marnis realm lol) and I think thats very important for an mmo

yes, but black desert is black desert since the beginning and doesnt change so much its gameplay, so pearl abyss didnt try to change black desert from what it was at beginning

blue hole studio trying to change the core of tera and making it another boring grinding game, they removed what make tera unique

and also rumor suggest elyon bust causing the fall of tera, blue hole studio chose to save elyon and sacrifice tera, but from what i see elyon continue to lost player, so i predict elyon will follow same fate than tera this year and blue hole studio will go banckuptcy next year

Yes. And this is why one should NOT try to change the core of any game to be another thing. Yet I see players, whom demand too much unaware of the consequences. And they tell me, I'm a troll or at least think me for such. Nobody wants to take lessons for sure. ;)

anyway we have tera private server, is better than nothing even if tera private server will never fill the empty space i feel after the lost of my cute elin
