-Guys
I think you've lost the plot on what is wrong with bartering and what it needs. Not a Guru yet, but getting close, so I feel I know just a "wee bit" about it..
Additional items added to a sub game doesn't even register on the movement needle.
In case you forgot you've drastically inflated the economy. In what I assume is a response to it, you've raised the MP prices on several other lifeskill goods. As even you know, you've left lifeskills to die on the vine in terms of silver/hr when in comparison to even the most gearlet season character running circles in Valencia...

As it stands, we'll take a Chad season geared player, grinding in Valencia, who stands to make 400-600m/hr.
(I'm excluding Centaurs, because we know its broken, you know its broken, everyone knows it broken... but nothing's changed has it???)
He's got what? 20hrs? Maybe 40 hrs inevested to get to this level?
-spoon fed gear
-spoon fed enchancing mats
-spoon fed pretty much everything

Now let's take Pubert the Barterer..
-has to farm mats to build ship(or buy)
-has to farm more mats to upgrade ship
-has to farm even more mats to upgrade to Carrack
-has to farm even MORE MATS to upgrade gear for Carrack
-has to farm VERY EVEN MUCH MORE CHAD MATS for Blue Carrack gear
-has to buy base bartering mats
-has to invest months of time into acquiring max barters for trade route expansions
-eventually gets to 20.5k barters, unlocks all his routes, does all his refreshes each day..(pulls in 1.2bill, cause he lucked up and got top rng rolls for 4 300m refreshes)
-makes what a spoon fed, Chad season character can do in a casual play session, because he bought a Season Pass

You may write this off as complaining, which some of it is, but it doesn't mean I'm wrong.
"Grinding is SuPpOsed to make more than lifeskills". Ok, fine. By how much? What basis are you even making your decisions on ?
I know you have neither the aptitude or the desire to balance the economy in this game, however, that doesn't mean you can't continue to throw darts and see what works.

Oh.. you need a suggestion. Here's an easy one.
-Figure out the average silver/hr for the most common Valencia grind spots.(Don't worry about involving the new Elvia stuff, I assume the numbers will get to big for you)
-Figure out how much less you want lifeskills to make per hour.
-Adjust that by how often you can even refresh your trade routes.
-Adjust base sell cost of T5 barter goods to compensate for whatever percentage you deem worthy of reducing lifeskills to.

Any sopohomore in college could do it with the actual data and calculator. Yall got any college professionals around there?
By even doing this, you will have made bartering 100% better than you have since its inception and subsequent abandonment.

Let's not forget the fact that they might be thinking it's AFK stuff but you're constantly playing while bartering. Either autopath gets you stuck somewhere (sometimes your boat sinks when it touches an island or rock for some reason), there are tornaoes that appear in front of you at random times and there are other players to worry about, a lot more recently than before. It's not an AFK sim, it's pretty involved and you do have to spend the time to barter items and use that awful UI system.

Silver per hour it just isn't worth it unless you really luck out and get traces of whatever you really needed so you may as well keep those traces since it's impossibly hard to get thousands of those.

You also need to invest in a lot more storage (max out) because you need a few places to store everything. There's also some P2W element in there too. Overall it isn't beneficial to do bartering at all, it's too much of a time commitment (months) and then the financial commitment takes at least a year to recoup everything (I might even be low balling and I defintively am if we are talking blue gear).

Absolutely, I've given "Feedback" numerous times on how broken auto-path can be. Even given them certain paths you can fail everytime(Like Port Epheria to Velia, it will get hung everytime in a carrack just north of Epheria)
Also, you used to have to worry about pirates sinking you as well while auto'd(especially around the Kuit Islands), not so much anymore because its basically dead content unless you do it for rank or nostaglia. Even if you don't get bothered AND you don't get stuck, you have to address your route at minimum every 5-10mins or so, so at absolute best its barely psuedo "afk".
I tried to ignore pointing out the P2W aspects most of us use as they are not "required" but "heavily encouraged". I can ignore the P2W, if there is some silver at the end of the swipe =/

Imho, they can put whatever bartering mats they want to if the top end compensation is worth it. Right now, its garbage =/
