In command prompt type in:

ping google.com -t

To stop this press ctrl + x

This will run the ping program constantly. If there's no immediate issue displayed, run BDO on the side and keep an eye on the ping. See if you're getting any dropped packet. Alternatively you could always ping BDO's game servers as well if they allow it.

Sometimes you can have excellent connection but something at the pole is slightly disconnected causing internet issues. Normally you won't notice this because a lot of things stream and websites won't break since they'll just wait for the packet to be successfully recieved but in online games you'll start noticing the effect a lot more like in your video.

If there's no issue with ping then we can move on and figure things out from there. Might even be the BDO servers since they have been slow this past week, probably because of the event.

Why you suggest to ping google ? Not to mention that BDO hosted by Microsoft, google have  local servers in any country and different routes, BDO located in Amsterdam (for EU), as i might guess for states is like really important distance between states so far away states is like different countries.

You don't even need bother to ping anything, just open resource monitor (windows tool) and on network tab  you can see to what IP's BDO connected and what ping its have. More advanced step is tracer to that IP's  to see on which node problems is, and if its outside your ISP, than  you can only pray someone where gonna fix it ( nope).

Kakao had listed the Server IPs in their FAQs, so you could use WinMTR (tool to perfrom trace route checks) to check your connection.

But couldn't find the server IPs in PAs FAQ.

Now since I started playing on 4G internet this issue is just daily life and it rly sucks.

4G is a mobile connection. Mobile connections are always instable and not recomended for gaming!

Yeah tell that to the ppl who dug up the phone lines because of road reconstruction and decided to not replace them because "theres more modern and better alternatives".

Made a video to showcase it b/c it's hard to explain.  Basically, when I log in every day, there's a glitch that I have to work around where I can't talk to NPC's, and they will lock me out of my controls if I attempt to talk to them.

Use some decent VPN or game accelerator.

There are alternatives to the standard (copper) phone lines, like fiber optic, but mobile connections are not.

Because it doesn't matter what they are pinging as long as it's reliable and google is reliable. If there are packets getting lost that's all OP should care about. Start with figuring out if your internet is trash and move on from there. That's why I said to ping bdo's servers if PA allows it but I know for a fact that google allows you to ping constantly without getting banned.

I'm not going to go and explain what software to download or buy and how to access the modem to check logs, keep it simple and move forward.

If you ping google, you know how good your connection to google is. But this tells nothing about the connection to the BDO servers.

To keep it simple, Google is down by highway 5 miles away from you,  BDO servers somewhere not in state/country you live and there is construction work or/& traffic  jam on the road leading to it. Driving to google only tell how good your car is, not the road to BDO server.

If you ping google, you know how good your connection to google is. But this tells nothing about the connection to the BDO servers.

I would agree to this here.  The best way to test is run a speed net test through Ookla.  Change the default server to any of the Los Angeles servers on the search.  Pearl Abyss is located in Manhattan Beach, California and this is part of LA.  I am getting 337 Mbps download and 11 Mbps upload on my system.   We have wifi here for the apartments, but this is a LAN connection.  On the 2.4 G connection I would see about half this speed.  Wired connections will always get the best speed.

Some 5G signals are not capable of traveling large distances, unless you live near the cell tower, those mobile signals might suffer.  When all is said and done, the latency could be caused by a server inbetween you and Pearl Abyss.  Neither of you have any control over the route unless you can change it yourself.   I am no expert on any of this, I just stand too close to my husband, who deals with all this crap all the time. lol

Have fun!
