Hey PA,
I hope someone checks this simple fix out.
Autopathing in sailing is very buggy as we all know and acknowledge.
If you guys can simply delete the rocks on the coast of the main continent it will be much better for both new and veteran sailors.
When we go pick up level 1 items going from illya or velia to port epheria side, the autopath ALWAYS get stuck on rocks.
Just delete the rock near starter barting islands and the coastline
No need to rewrite the code, just delete these unnecessary objects.
Easy fix.

That doesn't fix it unfortunately. The issue is after some update there's now curves in automating that don't always correct themselves. They had a roads system just like on land but in the water where you followed a straight path until you hit. Apoint where it split off. They need to go back to it Bing a road and not this trying to adapt to where you are. Simplify it don't over complicated it.

Eliminating some objects is easy tho sure they need to overhaul it but a delete object edit shouldn't be a 1000 hours ordeal ya know?
Also the map doesn't see little tiny rocks in the road or the water
So the autopathing don't pick up those objects. Better to delete the objects seriously.

Your miss understanding what I'm saying
Water autopathing used to be just like roats in the world set paths that the boats take and will phase through each other as you went on the path. In an update they changed it to be I guess smoother. But all they really did was break the simplicity.
Roads everyone takes island to island works. Straight lines to a location is not always going to work right especially now when use breezy sail when available is check marked. That makes it even worse for autopathing.
Easy fix to make sailing better?
1. Free perm compass.
2. Increase speed of ships 5 times (eg. travels route from Port Epheria to Velia on horseback faster than by ship (Carrack with green gear), rotfl).
3. 10 times less weight of barter trade goods (eg. from 1000 LT to 100 LT), It's frustrating to keep returning to port for a few items.
4. Removal of sea currents (they could almost completely stop even the fastest ship, embarrassing).
5. Changing the way how to ship is repaired to something similar to feeding a horse (i.e. we need immediate repair).
6. More ammo on ship or sea monsters' HP reduction (it is sick when fighting one sea monster lasts for several minutes)
7. Convert Rulupe channels to only pve channels.
Without these changes, bartering and all ocean contents are dead.

I agree with all this.
My suggestion was just the fastest/least work improvement.
But yea agreed 💯.
I was asking for a band aid and you recommend surgery and yea whatever we can get to make sailing fun I'm game.
SAame old story make it easyer so we do not have to work at it just like ship they made them easyer ooo they already made Bartering easyer but that seem to be the normal no one want to work just like real life no one want to work anymore. Learn to drive your ship so you do not run into everyone Be a real captain of your ship

Bro the stuck on a rock auto pathing from velia to port epheria is just disgusting and unnecessary

if you have not figure out how not to get stuck going from Velia to port epheria then maybe it time to try something else

I'm not trying to be cocky here but going back to your point of lazy or not. The value of my gears (PvE, pvp, life) is over 1.2 trillion. And more than likely would mop you up in 1v1 also.
Point is the sailing is broken and wack because of unnecessary objects and bad autopathing code. Aside from the wind/current thing that most players don't like at all.
That is all.
