In the magnus you randomly proceed with the quest chain or you have to talk to the black spirit. You don't know what this process is going to be unless you look at your quest log. Having to speak with the black spirit breaks the fluidity of the game and there's a level of anxiety of not knowing if you have to talk to him or not to move on to the next level. When I say anxiety I don't mean severe but just a minor concern.

My suggestion is that at the very least, if you do something exclusive like the Magnus, then there is no sense in requiring the player to accept a magnus quest via the BS, it's all within its own "world" anyway. Accepting quests from the BS is only holding you guys back in the story telling process.

Well, since Wuju is supposed to be the Black Spirit "double" in the Magnus World, like the alternates Jordine or Yeonhwa brought from the "Shadow Arena Universe" you meet during the quest, it kinda makes sense from a storytelling point of view.

For future reference you should definitively start your reponse with "SPOILER" because you don't want to spoil anything for anyone... :P

But I think you're misunderstanding what I'm saying, it makes no difference who is what. I am speaking about how BDO handles questing. It's very irritating and I am hoping that PA starts moving away from having to talk to the black spirit for every main story quest.

The magnus did not need you to open the menu at odd times to speak with him to accept the next quest, the black spirit could have been talking to the player without entering any kind of menu and proceeding to the next quest in the chain. This would have been much more immersive and inviting.

The process of opening the BS menu and accepting the next quest and reading the black spirit's text has much to be desired and it's a very dated system. The entire UI was changed in the magnus except for that, and that is what I was recommending since it's their opportunity to move away from speaking with the black spirit and use a different, experimental system to progress.
