Not my experience, lol. DFS isn't courteous. it's a way to bludgeon lower geared players.
How can a 66 still be a "low gear player" shouldn't you just accidentally be full pen with double pen BS by now? My highest level is 63 I have broken 7 pens due to karma deaths and I am currently full pen c20 with double pen BS

I think they spoke of other casual players and not themselves.
I play with chat off. Yesterday I was riding a griffon taxi and turned it on. It would be unlikely I would ever "see" anyone request DFS (duel for spot) but as I said in the past, I don't hog the area either. When I see another player in the area, I give them room to play. There is enough loot to go around. If they just attack me outright, depending on my character, I might fight them or flee. I haven't done much PvP in this game, I mostly PvP with a friend on Apex Legends.
Note to all the new players, who might be reading this thread.
Last year as I was leaving another MMO for this game, I was told BDO is not "player friendly" it has "open world PvP". Since Februrary of 2021 I haven't been killed very often by other players. I reached level 50 and nothing much changed. The few times I got killed, I wasn't paying attention or AFK (I went shopping). I have found players are friendly in BDO, assuming you don't pay any attention to their crude humor. I have found open world PvP can keep you on your toes, the AI (mobs) in most games are simple charge the player and they have no human thought process to combat. There is nothing within any game to surprise you. All NPCs will react the same, unless you meet Blue Shirt Guy, and he tells you he likes your song... but that is another story.

I love when people state this, without realizing that in KR they just Flag and kill or feed other players to mobs. They don't give the other player the curteousy of offering them a fair fight. DFS is more gentlemanly than the ambush tactic employed in other regions.
Asking to DFS isn't being "curteous" it's pretty selfish, at least in KR they don't pretend to be nice by giving someone an unfair exchange. If someones going to flag after a DFS decline they should have just started with the flag it would have been more genuine.
I really hope most people playing can look at DFS for what it is a completely one sided agreement, in this scenario the person already grinding would be offering the current grind location, while the DFS instigator proposes this arrangement without offering anything of value, anything at all for that matter.

This is completely wrong. What you are essentially saying is anyone doing starter content won't be contested. Yes over 90% of the entire game world is dead content and will always be such. The issue is that specific locations are either end game, broken, or both. That's when the issues begin. Furthermore it's like Pearl Abyss wants to antogonize it's customers. They specifically invent ways to make the game hostile and just a horrible experience.
Running limited timed events like this drop rate boost just jams people into already congested areas. The potion piece force people to grind for sometimes 100's of hours in lower areas. Specific areas are always broken yielding such high results you are wasting your time in other places.
Everything they told you was 100% true. It's just that no one is competing for grass beetles.

Heey Unknown was woots. But yeaaa it looks like our favorite hater is back. Its actualy little sad because he some times mention legit problems but instead to present them like constructive feedback its all hate. Losing the hope some dev to know about them. And Im wondering now whats his problem. No one is that much obsesed to hate a game. Its years. Any sane person will just leave, but he is here 4-5 years maybe just hating without any constructive post to change for better. Is it insanity or just well payed troll. Probably we will never know...
But its good to be flaged so people dont take him seriosly.
