That is the inherent problem with all cash-shop model games, it's what the old MMOs players, like me, that played games back when every game was sub-based told people would happen, but no one listened.
Every single non-sub game is the same, you end up paying 2-3 times more if you want to actually enjoy the game than a sub would cost. Well, you all wanted this, now stfu and eat your shit-sandwich while enjoying your "free game".
"Free games" can work more then great problem is when developers get greedy and lazy and want to give players infinite grind for little or no content at all. Even so this game wasnt really free until recently...
Cannibalizing and butchering the playerbase wont work to many times tho. Game got back after this "transfer" move but this wont last long if they keep making wrong moves.

It can't, because the people making such decisions are not game developers. It's the people who only care about the next quarterly earnings and nothing else, because THEIR job depends on that.
It works in theory, but like SO many theories, it fails to take the human element into consideration. It's like what my grandma used to say "Communism is great, as long as there are no poeple involved"

Any and all talk about politics is something thats is best left out of these forums and talking about a game since it can go very wrong very fast.

I know PA isn't going to take consideration of my opinion BUT i leave a comment of my feeling. Player since 2017 i stopped BDO cos the PvP, the enhancement and many things wasn't fun for me. Was back in the game since December 2020 to discover seasonnal servers and i had lots of fun with it ! It gave me want to keep going on BDO. I ended winter season and with this experience i knew what class i was going to choose to make my main. I spended hours to get the xp stuff to start next season and spended +600€ to "grow" my account and to prepare my next main char. And now PA arrive and say "hey we know you all like seasonal servers but we won't start a new one ! Enjoy "... Then i feel scamed by you Pearl Abyss, i just want to stop BDO definitely and sell my account ! Bye

Season is boring, really boring... people only play it for rewards, but they aren't mostly happy of playing the same again and again... and again...
Better bring back Shadow Arena! I'd play that (inside BDO, not the standalone one where I have to press 1,2,3,4,5 to cast skills...) even with no rewards at all!
Standalone Shadow Arena is a dead game, you can only rebirth it bringing it back to BDO

Season servers are the only reason i came back now that they're gone im prolly gunna quit again till they bring them back.

I do understand the need to take breaks from projects to focus on other things, but it's kind of sad, especially because there was only 1 season to go to fill up the year. Having had a bad winter myself, I was hoping to have some fun with Spring season. Well, I hope they'll be back, gl with other endeavors.
