Maegu just has too much going on. Fox pet, clones, huge aoe, huge range, lots of protection. A class can't be good at everything, they need some drawbacks. Imo clones don't fit her theme (they would make more sense on kuno/ninja jutsu) and shouldn't have been added in the first place, the class was already completr without them.

So, what does the fox say do? What do you consider that... object a plus for the class? Is the fox attacking something? does it have its own skills, does it allow for any interaction between the owner and itself? or anything and itself for that matter? Would the class function any different if you replaced the animation of the fox popping up with a potato?

So does striker, btw. And zerker, and hash, and sage, and - let me add it again - striker. They should remove the grabs from zerker, because the class has range or a metamorph and protection and mobility and big axes! And the protections from striker and the huge damage, because it has clones and mobility and multiple grabs. What's your point? Oh and they should remove the teleports from sage too, cus they're so confusing and he has ccs and whatnot. Should we continue about what should be removed from what class because said class has some of the other things? Can we go as far as converting the game's system into an lmb/rmb fight style, for the sake of simplicity and fairness? Hell! Make it a Quake Arena, but in the BDO world, with absolulety no skills at all! Best balance!

Ok so its time for me to put my two cents in here; 

I really hate getting into controversial topics like this but it must be done so here we go.

For starters, first and fur-most(get it? because we are talking about a fox lady.. ok im sorry bad joke ill go sit in the corner) PA made the right call by removing the clones, and honestly in my opinion (having played it in glabs for pre-release event) it was super strong when playing and playing against it. For example, when I was a succ Striker trying to chase the cunning fox lady doing all her magical doppleganger skills it honestly felt like a game of cat and mouse. Trying to land a grab felt almost impossible on top of the fact she has some of the best ranged skills in the game. As a melee class how can you beat something you can't get close to? and when you do they can pull a shadow clone justu on you and say "haha you thought simpleton". The mechanic is extremely broken and im not sure how or why Maegu has clones to begin with aside from the 9-tail fox/Naruto comparison. Or alternatively, someone from the dev team was like "Hey, you know what would be sick? CLONES" and boom she has shadow clone justu. Jokes aside though the ability should be reworked (part 1) or removed (part 2), and I will provide examples on how they could go about this below;

[Removal (Part 2)]

The second alternative would be to remove the skill completely and replace it with a whole entirely new skill unique to Maegu, the skills I had thought of previously I did not like so therefore I will take some more time to think of new ones because when I make posts/replies I like to give my all into it. The ideas I had were not up to par and you guys would have been dissapointed. Unfortunately I cannot provide examples this exact time to help visualize my thought proccess and I apologize for not being able to deliver this part just yet but I promise it'll come in the near future and it will be great.

**Also if you have any suggestions on the [Reworked (part1)] section of my thread feel free to comment below on what I should change or what you would like to see added instead and I'll do my best to edit it along the way**.

** Basically I provided examples on how PA could rework Maegus clones currently:

● this solves Maegu's issue of hyper mobility while still being a powerhouse with the added disorientation/annoyance of the illusory double

(nerfing her damage and her mobility while the double is active makes this a useful skill for sustain and survivability rather than

being an out right broken mechanic, whereas before she could continously swap locations whilst continuing to cast skill after skill with minimal drawbacks).

● Although this could be a potentially super strong skill as it summons a physical double which can do damage along side you it is offset by its initial cast time along with the fact that while it is active it prevents the gain of MP which means you yourself cannot cast skill on skill and are limited to your basic attacks, furthermore you and your clone can still be CC'd at any point, however to offset this as well your evasion is also increased. *{Numbers are not set in stone and are subject to change(s)

Hello,

As a player of a class that has long since been regarded as cancer incarnate, I can tell you that trying to hold on to things that the community despises has resulted in the removal of nearly everything. Misty haze was the best armor shred in the game and it was so good that some players would trade hours grinding top spots alongside shais and completely upset the balance of pve content in BDO for years. Sun Moon Stars is still an insanely powerful buff that no guild in the world would rather go without. Bongos were so incredibly strong that they nearly replaced gates in siege castles for a period of almost two years. Finally, the shai bubble which weaponized desync to murder countless enemies and friends alike in content across all of BDO.

Most of these skills were either directly or indirectly nerfed. For instance misty haze was removed from working on a number of mobs/bosses and placed on a 3min cd. Bongos were effectively left in the past when PA returned the SA meta, buffed evasion classes across the board except for shai and overall boosted most classes accuracy by around 20% or more during the reworks to counteract the considerable evasion passives on nearly every class. The result of these changes made shais too squishy to stand in front of tons of enemies and made the bongos (forest echo) more or less a niche tool. Sun Moon Stars buff is still strong but who knows when PA will get around to nerfing it, probably replace it with some life skill nonsense. Lastly the Shai bubble, surprisingly unchanged in most of the game but in Valencia City RBF it actually has no collision and instead stops on projectiles and limits the damage the shai takes. This is a potential future nerf which is currently being tested.

This was a long write-up but to put it bluntly, if your class is cancer then your future will not survive, take it from a shai. This type of balancing is just a constant headache for everyone. Take the L now and think of some new gimmicks while your voices matter.


Also, Maegu hits like a freaking truck from all ranges and with none of the limitations imposed on other ranged classes. You cannot put blinders with PVE written on them and ignore the game's holistic balance.

Who has no s block , q block, heals, PA or speed spell like casters which one has a grab and awaken ranger(best grab in game rn pretty much) she doesnt have a grab, she also has one slow unprotected short range, rangers have many slows(ranged) and caster has one of the best slows still not as ranged as rangers,  maegu has low cc catch potential, lower damage than succ sage an succ ranger and archer. Whats your point?  Sure clones need adjustments , but damage in even capped nodewar/siege  outside of 1v1 isnt as high as people make it out to be, some other classes succ ranger/archer being far higher , even though before first set of  nerfs she was matching them to being far higher. Now shes under them rn by a margin. Multiple targets to close together split damage occurs, shes a 1v1 and group play class rn. Since more than 3 targets in any AoE it loses to much damage to being worth using. On pistany there is a maegu "one shotting"  choice if you watch closely it was the succ ranger who killed him before maegus skills damage proc even triggered which the succ ranger was right beside them. Hence why the ranger got the kill.

Still people think it was the Maegu kekw even though the maegus name did not appear and was the succ rangers.

Right now Maegu is doing the same thing as Awaken dk albeit with more damage without the iframes instead has clones.

 Ther will always be an incentive for classes that bring nothing new to the gane. That being that people will buy cotstumes for it on release.

Is sage really that different from wiz/witch?  Is Hash miles apart from ninja or kuno?  There are differences sure, but their roles and playstyle are basically identical.

As for how clones could be balanced for pve and pvp. They should just remove the ability for the maegu to swap places with her clones entirely. That way if you study you can learn the matchup and be able to accurately guess based on reaction.

in which universe is either sage spec similar to letsay awaken wizard/witch? closest thing to awakened caster is maybe awakened guardian and even awakened guardian is way more mobile.

Not sure I agree with that.

Maegu has:

- Iframe with 2 and 2.5 second CD (though iframe duration is slightly shorter than DKs, but maegus movement distance is further) that can be compared to Dusk and Chain Dusk (2 and 5 second CD, but independent)

- Iframe with 13 second CD on Path of Petals, and on 5 second with Soul Tear. Can be compared to Nocturne (12s) and Airstrike (7sec) CD, though of course nocturne is also a blockjump that can be lingered in Iframe for 1.4 seconds

Plus DK has Balanced strike on a 35 second cd.. yea. So while dk has slightly longer iframes, Maegu has access to the same amount, on similar CDs, plus the clones.

Awa DK also has a total of 3 "ranged" spells: Seed, Root, Shadow Strike. Not counting Ashes because no awa dk uses it in pvp. All of these have far lower AoE and lower range than maegus spells.

Awa DK has a couple of semi-ranged skills, all of which are less ranged than the AoE on Maegus melee AoEs (Shatter, legacy, Cluster, Grip).

Awa DK has exactly one ranged CC, which is a Float (though of course has 4 melee range protected CCs)

Awa DK also has a total of one KD. With the exception of Cluster, no spell of Awa DK has even a similar AoE size to the majority of Maegus spells.

So while both of them are kind of the archetype of "hybrid ranged caster", Maegu wins in about every aspect. She has more AoE, more sustain, more "trick" with the clones, more damage, more defense (see class ratios + passive), more SA, more range, more skills to use. Its not just the damage thats different.

Also, before anyone misunderstands: I'm not saying that Awa Dk is horribad, but I am saying that Maegu is currently still a lot better in most aspects of gameplay. Awa DK is mostly fine as she is (except class ratios lol). Some classes are just too strong.

Can you explain to me the reason why having a Q or S block matters at all? Why on earth would i want to press Q or S and block when I could instead use a forward guard to block while also pumping out damage. Q and S block might be useful in the event that all your protections are on CD, but this isnt the case anymore for the majority of classes. people are just rotating through their moves that protect themselves while doing damage.

also maegu does have a heal, i dunno if you diddnt ever check. Soul charm heals her for a thousand hp her e buff also heals her for a thousand hp. on top of that she has 4 other skills that heal her on hit.
