I'm not sure if everyone is aware but while underwater, if corsair holds shift, she can briefly flicker in and out of mermaid form on a short cool down for a burst of speed at the expense of stamina consumption. This effect is very nice but could be strengthened visually. I am suggesting we allow corsair players to maintain mermaid form visuals indefinately while underwater and keeping the passive speed bursts exactly as they are(unchanged, this is purely visual). This would mean changing the animation on normal underwater swimming for corsair to be in mermaid form swimming animation for the full duration of movement(again, leaving the speed bursts exactly as they are, only changing anything visually).
I am aware underwater content is not the biggest feature in this game but a lot of people would really appreciate this type of change for screen shots alone. It would really strengthen the class mermaid identity as well and allow us to appreciate the work put into mermaid form much more closely.
I just want to keep this request small and attainable, please show support in hopes of more mermaid time for the mermaid class.
I'm gonna ramble a bit because the topic of corsair has something I've taken issue with for a whole.
Corsair should absolutely have a class passive that allows her to swim with her mermaid swimming animation as standard, as well as her mermaid sprint at the cost of stamina, and I also think she should slowly recover stamina in water instead of losing stamina like the rest of the classes. If someone finds a game breaking reason why that shouldn't be the case then feel free to say, I haven't thought about the ramifications for her having these abilities in water.
The classes theme is a mess. Crows mist/steam? A rifle (but not really)? A harpoon? Anchors? Otters with cannons? A whip sword? Fireworks? Water magic? Mermaid transformations? There's about three classes worth of stuff crammed in there, yet she's doing none of them as well as it they could have been done if they weren't all crammed into one class.
People who've wanted a different species class, like an otter who calls for help, that'll never happen. Nor will we ever get a true gunslinger. Nor a mermaid caster with water magic and a full time transformation in awakening. All to cater to the cluttered mess of corsair, who crams together two/three strong character themes in one, yet does none as well as they could have been on their own.
