Yeah the feet texture are ugly
yup unforunaly black desert is bad with with limb, i wish my waifu have very sexy limb instead to be like branch
You're kinda clueless. BDO have only one positive and that is it's graphics, everything else, and especially the gameplay is trash and should be improved if they want to be relevant.
To be fair, character graphics are still great, the immediate environment around your character is good, but distance landscape and textures; A child's crayon drawing (i.e. awful). Lighting and ambient effects, at times look simply lovely, and at others absolutely amateurish. PA developed their own graphics engine and it unfortunately shows in places with many 'rookie' mistakes (e.g. horrible pop-in assets when moving around, which can't be fixed regardless of how amazing your PC is. An issue which other engines dealt with +20 years ago now).
Overall, I think Black Desert is above average currently. It's days of being amazing visually are arguably long gone, unless of course they put effort in and update the engine. But that is doubtful, PA themselves have openly admitted recently in public announcements/interviews that Black Desert has a a limited shelf life, all games of course do. Just what that means though with regard to their internal thoughts about the future of the game is anyone's guess.
idk man. PA is too prideful to go ue5 (and stingy lets be real). We are stuck with the graphics rn, maybe they can edge out a little bit more with this engine and thats it.
But most dont play on high anyways, game stutters and freezes for everyone and there 101 way to "fix it"/s.
Graphics alone wount carry this game, where is endgame, why do i grind for all this game whats the point of spending more pearls and hours upon hours to grind silver?
Basically, I've been feeling lately like BDO is really starting to show it's age visually.
wtf are u talking abotu when most pvp players play in minecraft mode anyway? :D :D :D

what bdo should focus on is way faster balancing updates, and more group play content.

combat system IS nice, problem is it cant keep up with the engine (all the excessive movement, desyncs and hitstutters).
but game has very little int erms of group mmorpg content and is basically solo sandbox simulator beside group pvp (coz few attempts at dungeons are meh, and group grind spots are very few and msot arent as lucrative as solo grind)
BDO by far worst gameplay i've ever seen in any game technically wise, everyone was laughing about about F76 was effected by FPS, but for BDO exploiting FPS=DPS is called an skill, just like exploiting mouse movent or hotbar skills or extending iframes. On top of that they rapidly removing core of any MMORGP = progression so vet players simple leaving game as its have no content. And i'm not even going to talk about "amazing" hidden class balance stats that force you to play FOTM class or be trash.
I have no problem with FPSes even on remaster so I dont know. My main problem which destroy my BDO experiance are constant 0,5-1s time freezes in random moments or just FPS drop.. Everytime when it starts I have to turn off game do check files and download this 81 "damaged files" again.. I have no idea what is happening. Refering to paragraph about progresion, well I cant agree adding over n over new stuff to game is bad from new players pov. New Players already have content for 2k+ hours, if they want catch up. I would even go further and reduce the gap even more and make yellow grade AP accesory easier to obtain. Tera Online died because devs were adding more and more new stuff and they totally forgot about new players who realised how long they will have to grind they were giving up at start. So imo equalized new content in Morning Light is good move everyone have equal chances.. at least in theory, it's obvious old players will crush newbies with knowledge and exprience.
I dont think so, but it wont die in the meantime. maybe in 10 years if every new mmo keeps being a big fail as it has been in these past years :)
but regarding the topic, yeah bdo is starting to look old
In all honesty, Role Playing Games are very niche and MMORPGs are even more niche. Right now MMORPGs are struggling to survive which is why there are so few remaining. Thankfully, BDO is doing something right for turning in a profit despite this underwhelming market. FF14 renewed itself for 10 more years of support instead of investing in a new game. Guild Wars 2 will continue to be supported instead of a Guild Wars 3 and PA hasn't announced anything in regards to BDO2.
I think it would be very risky to invest in a sequel but I would love to try it. Unfortunately like many here I invested so much money into my account and unless we would get the option to transfer over, I don't think I could commit with the same kind of financial dedication.
I do agree that the graphics in BDO are showing their age but some of it can be resolved by adjusting the light levels (min and max) for remastered mode (hint hint PA). Others like pop-ins is a bit more complex and a whole new LOD system would have to be used. Thankfully LOD tech has evolved tremendously over the years and there are so many papers written about them that PA could implement something similar to nanite from unreal engine 5.
The polycount seems fine but the textures could use improvement. Some textures are pretty bad particularly on some of the older costumes. I think they have been updating some textures over time but I haven't paid that close attention to know for sure. BDO is using PA's first game engine and it's been holding up pretty impressively especially considering its age compared to other mmos.
But I would glady play a game that looks outdated but has excellent gameplay and engaging game mechanics than to play a modern pretty game that doesn't have much to do. Games like Chrono's Odyssey look amazing but let's not kid ourselves, tech demos are always impressive and it is another korean company and they are generally P2W. I'm pretty thankful that BDO isn't like that. There are some paid elements but it's nowhere near the sinister approach other companies take when publishing their MMORPG.
I won't hold my breath for a sequel. I'd be more content if they could figure out the current latency and pop-in issues instead.

And even when you look at "group" pvp, since there are no real synergies between classes (something obvious since the beta, where they tried some formation system to alievate that fact, system that was so bad that it was finally scrapped), besides one or 2 classes casting buffs it's really limited compared to other titles.
Let's not forget that before creating the company, Pearl Abyss founders and senior designers worked at Webzen on Continent of the 9th Seal, and in C9, most pvp you will witness and palyers will engage into is 1 vs 1. It clearly shows in BDO.

In Asian/Korean games you hardly see real competitive PvP, there is usually only 1v1 or at most small scale so that's hardly surprising. It's hard to find an asian game that is balanced, or where the devs even try to balance it. Usually all the same, "convenience" cash shop + money milking by releasing broken classes en masse without caring about their game on the long term. What PA does is not unique, this is the standard KR modell.
