Bonghwang's Tear aims to be the "all-arounder" choice, giving mid-level offensive + defensive stats in comparison with the other two, more specialized, Primordial Crystals.  It can safely be stated that, in most cases, "middle of the road" type items aren't as popular as more specialized items due to being less effective/efficient.  IE: The reason Orkinrad's Belt isn't considered by the vast majority of players.  If you're going DPS, go DPS.  If you're going tanky, go tanky.  While I mostly agree with these premises, I'd like to make an argument for the new Red Primordial Crystal -- it isn't all that bad.

Compared to Haetae's Crystal -- yes, the Purple one is far more superior, offering double or more DR, Evasion, HP stats, and a whopping 2% Special Attack Evasion vs 0.5%.  It's without a question that Haetae's Tear is probably the best option, even making an argument for DPS based builds, as the defenses it offers is very good for a variety of PvP scenarios, classes (primarily melee), and builds.

Now, let's compare the Red Crystal to the Yellow one (Girin's Tear).  This is where it gets a little interesting.

Bonghwang's Tear offers +2 more Accuracy and includes +4 AP over Girin's Tear.  It trades off half the Special Attack %, 1% less All Resistance and grants users with a small bonus of 2% Ignore All Resistance, as well as the defensive, partial, stats from Haetae's Crystal.  These are the most notable differences between the two.  As far as a "DPS based" crystal goes, an argument can be made that the Red Crystal is superior to the Yellow --- More accuracy, more AP, only thing that is less is slightly less damage via Special Attack (IE: Down Attack) and slightly less Resistance.

My argument is -- In the right build, on the right class, with the right playstyle, Bonghwang's Tear is NOT a bad option in comparison to the other two.  It might even be the BEST, given the right build, class, and playstyle.

>> This is not to say Purple Crystal is worse -- in fact, it is my favorite one of the three and I think it's the most, generally, effective -- nor am I saying the Yellow is bad as it's clearly a much better PvE crystal.  I'm just saying, I hear some people saying the Red Crystal is "complete trash", I'm just not totally sold on that absolutist claim is all, as I feel that I can find good use of this crystal.

It offers a lot, but for 5b it's not worth, for 1.5b it will be decent.  Either way I'm selling mine until way later.  I'll buy it when the price bottoms out in 2 months.

The Bongwhang is definitely a crystal that been change during its development for that random pointless do everything while crystal are literally meant to be specialized part of the itemization like the 2 other Primordial crystal are.

PA being afraid to give people more damage, I guess. That crystal is not worth a slot, even for free.


PA would change it completely and make it simply Offensive without BS. That is not hard.
