Totally agree, your suggestions would be the better solution!!!
worst part you have to spend 1h5m....
I have to pay 60 cent per KW/H energy until next year there is no way i keep bdo running when i go sleep or to work. I really enjoy to spend a quick hour grinding without the hassle to find a free spot. The first hour should always be free every day , i dont mind being online for more private time after that. Most days i can only spend a hour or two at all anyways.
Question: What makes you think that you have to be online for the Marni Realm to recharge? Nothing in the letter implies that.
Of course, the system isn't implemented yet, but right now, your Marni time resets from one day to the next whether you are online or not.
So you could log in grind your "quick hour" and then either continue grinding outside of Marni while it recharges or go do something else on a different character in the mean time. Or log off, have dinner and come back in an hour if you want to grind more.

I don't care to much how Marnis hour charges after the first hour, but the first hour should be reset as it is right at 6am. Imagen going for a grind in private hour as the last thing and many time only thing you do on a day....and then you turn off you PC. Next day you come online for your grind, but SUPRISE you need to wait 1h and 5min to get into the private hour. So basically this change f***s all ppl who have less than 2h10min per day to play or turn off their PC. And the intent stated by the devs was that the private hour was especially for players with little time.
But this is the change that global lab got this Friday:
- Marni’s Closed Room – The battle time of the individual hunting ground has been reorganized.
Before change | After Change |
---|---|
Available for 1 hour and 5 minutes per day
|
The time spent in the locked room is charged while connected
(When fully used and charged for 1 hour and 5 minutes, up to about 11 hours per day )
|
Reset every day at 6am | As it is charged while connected, it is not initialized and is continuously charged |
This restiction is so that you will still occassionally see players in the world (theoretically)
Do you really want to play a game where people just stock up 7 marni hours and grind, then stock them up and repeat again?
..there are good single player games out there.
Something strange that flashed in my mind while I was thinking about this subject...
What's the point of grinding privately so many hours? What is the long term goal here? To get better gear that you can use against... more monsters? Doesn't that feel kinda dry? I mean, I guess I'm kinda speaking for myself here but, my original intention of getting stronger was so that I could participate in big wars and fight random people out in the world, whilst also being able to fight bigger and stronger monsters with specific drops and whatnot. But if everyone's going to be inside their private little world grinding, what will the point of this game even become? Where's the 'MMO' part of it?
I'll go even further to compare current state BDO with Warframe, which is a game that I played very much. Warframe is a very 'grinding monsters' focused game, but you almost ALWAYS play with a group of randoms. The game is focused in PvE and does it quite well in my opinion and it has a vibrant and healthy community (AFAIK). But BDO can't just become an actually single player game now, can it? Because, as far as I know, there really is little to not point in grinding with someone else in the majority of spots in Black Desert (I know there are group spots, but majority of spots aren't like that).
So, with what I'm understanding is that, this game (Black Desert) is turning into an ENTIRELY solo gaming experience (more than it already was). It might as well have absolutely 0 players anyways (might be exaggerating here). What's the point of having an MMORPG experience if there's no MMO in it? Maybe some day we'll be able to have our own Kzarka, Karanda, Garmoth instances. Maybe even Vell. Maybe everything will be instanced in the future. Maybe we could even have our own little private gardens for gathering and other relevant life skillings.
But these are just my thoughts, take them with a grain of salt (or two). I do not believe that the game will die because of these changes. If anything, it will entice certain new/returning players to come and stay.
However, I firmly believe that everyone will eventually reach the same conclusion or anything similar. This game is becoming something in between worse and better at the same time. It's kinda strange.
