Yes. I don't know how long I'll stick around but I doubt it's that long . The only fun content is boss rush attraxion and aos. Aos even practise mode will be removed in a month . So basically login once a week for attraxion and boss rush. I wish grinding was actually fun but all the fun spots are locked in till you have 1000s and 1000s of hours.  Grinding right now is just 1 shot mobs and is incredibly boring . It's like auto play except you have to hold 1 button 

You do touch on some important points. One of which being; The monster combat mechanics are overall very boring pre-Elvia. Why PA make new players suffer through such an uninspiring system before they reach the enjoyable combat areas is nonsensical. New players will simply stop playing if it's not fun. It doesn't take much for a new player to say 'this game isn't fun, I'll go try something else', first/initial impressions are hugely important. Pa arguably should be doing all their can to make the combat enjoyable, engaging and memorable for the new player, but... well PA do a lot of things that are simply baffling.

id gladly welcome increase to cron cost usage to fully protect my accesorries ngl. As it stands now to just have them degreade defeats any kind of purpose to use the damn things. like golly gee Thanks for the Increased RNG to have them downgrade I appreciate it! not like i didnt just waste 1500 crons+ for IV/V taps for Vahas, distos. Yes thats sarcasm.. very very heavy sarcasm

Yes I agree. Everywhere I ask I always get the same respense"it will get better" but if it will get better then why can't you make old spots better . Why does 1 shot move 1 shot move exist . At my ap I have found a fun spot in braghi den elvia . I dont know if the rewards are good or not but it is fun because I get to use my full rotation

It's clearly not a game for you if you want to log once a day for atoraxxion. Probably WoW or something else would be better for you.

If a game is unwilling to improve them I don't think it will be a good game for anyone . You may disagree with my opinion and that's perfectly fine . But you could atleast point out things that make my point wrong . Thankyou for the response though

You can do math to find out the averages of what happens with different enhancing scenarios like attempting a PEN accessory with crons, how often it goes, how often it fails, how often it downgrades, how many bases on average are required to make a PEN, how many crons are required to make a PEN, etc. So with the current system you might say "This accessory with typical stacks will on average require X number of bases plus Y number of cron stones, to create a PEN of that accessory." That all has a value, and if you try to enhance for profit in large volumes you have to know your expected costs relative to expected sale prices of your final product. You might think, "If I use these stacks, I am expected to make 10 TET distortion earrings at this average cost per earring, based on expected quantity of bases plus crons. Then I will sell the TETs at these prices, giving me a margin of xxxxx after taxes, blahblahblah."  

I don't have specific numbers in mind right now, so bear with me as I speak in general terms. 

so what if PA made 2 changes to reduce volatility first:

1 - For unprotected accessory enhances, replace destruction with degradation because item destruction feels so miserable, but we at least have to keep degradation because if it's not gambling then it's not BDO - sorry, that's just the DNA of the game at this point. 

2 - For protected accessory enhances, remove degradation chance because people hate using crons AND seeing degradation anyway, why not let crons fully protect stuff?

However, if they only make those 2 changes, this will reduce the actual cost to create PEN accessories immensely. Far fewer crons will be used and also far fewer base accessories will be required. I assume we want to maintain the same general costs of stuff needed to make a PEN accessory. So they will then make 2 more changes to restore average costs second:

1 - Require additional base accessories for each attempt of higher level of enhance: For example 1 base plus 1 base = a 70% shot at a PRI right now, and 1 base plus 1 PRI = a 50% shot at a DUO right now. if accessories are not destroyed on failure but only degrade, but we still want the same quantity of bases to be used on average, then we need to somehow increase the quantity of bases required to make attempts if downgrade is possible but destruction is impossible. For PRI it can still be 1 base plus 1 base = a PRI, but for DUO I think you'd need 2 if not 3 bases plus a PRI to attempt a DUO. This is to make up for the fact that you won't be losing the PRI on failure, but we still need to maintain the same demand for bases as before. And it will go higher per enhance level. Imagine today where you might make several TRI Ogre Rings and then attempt TET on all of them and only get 1 TET. We need to represent that you (or SOMEONE, if you bought the ogre rings at enhanced levels) used MANY base Ogre Rings to arrive at all the TRIs that you then used to arrive at 1 TET. 

2 - Require some percent more Cron stones per attempt to protect the enhance. If each fail currently has a 40% downgrade rate in today's system, i'm not sure exactly how we'd make up for that in a new system where downgrade is impossible. maybe just 40% more cron stones required per attempt? It might be that simple; it's not something I've thought about but whatever percent value increase it would be, PA can figure it out. 

Now, if the increased base quantity, and increased cron requirements, add up to the same average costs as the current system - would players be happier doing this or less happy? Each attempt would be more expensive, the final product would be the same value, but the failures would be... less devastating I guess? Emotionally? 

You make a very good point . Considering the cron cost it does hurt a lot when it degrades. Specially with new cron increase . I've never touched crons but I can't imagine people spending 8 months gathering things only to loose everything with no progression.  Heck they get negative progression because they also loose the items . I do not think anything in a video game should be that time expensive.

Some interesting takes.

One thing that downgrades do is they institute a massive disparity between the very lucky and the very unlucky. Even if enhancing costs/inputs increased, the elimination of downgrades as a mechanic would reduce the disparity (which everybody including PA should want).

And I think thats one of the main things people find so frustrating about the accessory enhancement system. Gear enhancement generally averages out with large sample sizes. Just watch a biceptimous debo enhancing youtube video to see how punishing downgrades are to the very unlucky.
