Hello all,
im sure this has been addressed before, but as it has been 7 years of BDO and no improvement on their swimming mechanics whatsoever i will address it again in the hopes something will be done with it.
The swimming is by far the most horrendous feature this game has to offer. its clunky, unresponsive and unintuitive.
some of the problems i have run into:
- when diving down from a cliff or ship my char always gets pushed back to the surface, even when pressing the diving buttons
- turning around, going up , going down are not working half of the time
- when diving of something near shallow water or when swimming near rocks/ beaches has me stuck into the ground more often than not.
- when out of breath my char floats to the surface but then remains stuck right under it and due to being out of breath i cant continue swimming. Escape - Escape being my only way out.
- unable to climb out of the water at small shores, but i can get out when climbing rocky cliffs?
Dying continuously at vell cause my char floats up when trying to dive is not exactly fun ^^"
please PA do some rework on your swimming

For that, point camera to the surface and keep pressing E. Your character will break the surface after a moment.
Diving etc.: Q gets you under, then point your self down and use W. Same with ascending. Q & E adjust depth in-placed, more or less. They work a bit like they do when you're in observation mode. Or that could just be more confusing.
If you need to turn in a smaller radius, alternate swimming sideways and turning.
Staying under at vell: dive with Q, swim down with W, and go down a bit farther than you need in case you float up. That floating will occur if you aren't doing anything else, so try swimming around or down a bit.

yea been using all of the above, but it still a clunky mess. some smoothing out would be appreciated
