History is full of examples, and actuality too: a war starts because one side launches it.

Nobody has ever seen any war starting because both parties agreed to fight. When both agree, it's called a truce.

I don't understand anymore the purpose of wars in BDO... :

- there's no reason anymore, before it was often after a fight over a spot, now it's gone

- only 1 person can accept it in the guild, even though all the staff can launch it at first

- there's a strange rule about "within the time to accept, if the guild who received the war attacks, the war is automatically accepted" but how does it work when you allow to "automatically reject all wars demands"? It's contradictory.

I wonder now, Pearl Abyss, and I would like an answer please (and I'm pretty sure I am not the only one here): what is the purpose of wars in BDO now?

Dead content, same like DFS. Everyone now ignoring u, ok u can PK and feed to mobs but what purpose ? In the moment when u ask about dfs he will just turn off crystals and keep ignoring you and he/she risks nothing.

Yeah but actually I'm really serious, I wonder why the Guild War system does exist.

What's the point now? If anybody wants to fight and agree, they don't need to wait hours for the other GM to be online, they just can go in arena or accept a duel.

Now, I really wonder why PA made a guild war system because I don't get the reason.

The purpose for war was for highly geared and low skilled players in guilds like Kinsworn Hunters to bully low geared guilds. While running away for equally geared guilds. 

The other purpose for wars was for a much stronger guild to bypass the karma system to bully lower geared players out of lower geared spots.

The other purpose for wars was to bully whole guilds till the die.

The other purpose for wars was for higher geared players to laugh as their make many people rage quit the game. Because they was tired of being bullied consistently.

That all being said, the middle ground could've been to implement Eve Online's crime and punishment system to BDO. Which would have allowed for one sided war but at extreme cost to the guild that is declaring the one sided war. That way one sided wars would still been possible, but not economically sound.

Just my minor two cents on the matter.

I believe the purpose has always been to allow open world conflict between two guilds. I don't believe it was ever intended to be used as a tool to bypass the karma system in 1v1 situations. If GvGs were intended for that I see no reason for duels or the karma system in general to of ever existed. I agree that anyone staff or higher should probably be able to accept declerations, but honestly thats probably a technical limitation that's being worked on. The only reason we have to accept declerations now, I think, is because it was so frequently being misused to bypass the karma system in 1v1s where that was never the intended use case. In short GvGs are for guilds to fight guilds not for individuals to fight individuals.

GvG is dead content now. Stop bothering with it. 

If you want mental peace, just grind marni or get lucky with a spot. If somebody griefs you, as has been commented many times, switch server.

I believe you can get banned for feeding players to mobs. So not a good idea.
