Awak Mystic suggestions for the upcoming PvP changes

I'm gonna address some of the problems with Awakening Mystic because the class feels like it's stuck in 2018 and how to improve/fix the class. I'm also gonna use KR's recent class changes for skill modifiers.

1. Shard Build Up/Damage

Problem 1: Awakening Mystic shard regeneration is stuck in 2018, because it takes way too long to build up 3 shards and 2 of the dragon skills (Sea Burial and Wave Orb) consume 3 shards in addition to the shard build up problem. This problem was solved in PvE because Tidal Burst gives 2 times more shards per hit (each hit gives 0.1 shard, so Tidal Burst gives 0.2 per hit) and with 16 hits on the skill, Mystic can get 3 shards with just this skill. The problem is that Tidal Burst is useless in PvP. Succession Mystic doesn't have this problem because of the Succession passive for shard build up. By chaining skills together, additional shards are gained which leads to Succession being able to discharge shards for damage consistently in PvP.

Problem 2: The biggest issue as to why people say the class does no damage is mystic is heavily reliant on shards for damage. Without the dragon flow of Rising Dragon, Sea Burial and Wave orb, these 3 skills are doing way less damage because those flows almost double the amount of hits. For example, Rising Dragon has 7 hits on the normal skill and the dragon adds another 5 hits. The other problem with the damage is that the pvp reduction of some of these skills are so high like Gushing Waters, which makes the class's damage entirely reliant on the 3 dragon skills. As discussed earlier, Awakening Mystic doesn't get enough shards in PvP to constantly use the dragon flows.

Solution: The game is a lot faster than it was in 2018 and so Awakening's ways of building shards need to be updated. These are simple problems to fix because it was fixed for PvE. Make all the non-dragon skills regen at the 2x rate like Tidal Burst. Then, make both Gushing Waters and Earth Splitter PvP reduction 62% instead of 71.6% and 68% respectively. Sea Burial PvP reduction from 77.7% to 73%. 

2. Protected Damage

Problem: Lack of protected damage is why the class struggles with group PvP. In the Awakening kit, the class has 2 protected skills that do some damage (Rising Dragon and Sea Burial with 3 shards). Gushing Waters is SA but does no damage so it’s nothing more than an SA.

Solution: Buff Gushing Waters like previously suggested in this post. Make Wave Orb and Tidal Burst protected, both skills should switch with their respective Core (gain protection on normal skill and CC on core). Tidal Burst doesn’t do much damage but it should be protected for shard build up.

3. Utilities

Problem: Awakening Mystic’s utility support skills are just worse than other classes. Both slows are unprotected and landing Dragon’s Pit is just not reliable and the cooldown is way too long. Comparing her slows to other classes like Awakening Berserker which has 2 slows on a 10-12 seconds cooldown and SA or Musa’s Searing Slam on a 6 second cooldown which has SA + Knockdown. Succession Corsair’s suction is on a much lower cooldown and applies slows and Awakening Valk that can be used from a distance and Bound (Mystic applies an accuracy debuff though but long cooldown).

Solution: As I’ve said above, make Wave Orb protected and reduce Dragon’s Pit cooldown to 20 seconds and a little bit bigger AOE (around 10%). Reduce Dragon’s Rip down to 17 seconds.

4. Other improvements

For both Awakening and Succession: 9% evasion rate buff for 5 seconds on Flash Step. This is mainly for the class to be tanky while standing. This should not be for 10 seconds like Striker.

Gushing Waters, give the skill -9% evasion rate like Thunderpound in Pre-awakening since PA has been making buffs and debuffs in Pre-awakening more accessible in

Awakening, like berserker and striker. Remove downsmash on Gushing Waters.

Tranquility cooldown reduced to 20 seconds.

 

Give back the Knockdown on Dragon’s Strike. I’ve never understood why this was removed during the class reworks.

 

TLDR

Make skills regenerate 2 times more shards like Tidal Burst.

 

Change Gushing Waters and Earth Splitter PvP reduction to 62% and Sea Burial to 73% and no change to the dragon flow(with the new KR skill modifiers).

 

Tidal Burst and Wave Orb gain frontal guard and lose CC (Swap effects with their respective core).

 

Knockdown back on Dragon’s Strike.

 

Tranquility from 40 to 20 seconds, Dragon’s Pit from 25 to 20, Dragon’s Rip from 20 to 17.

 

Flash Step gives 9% evasion rate for 5 seconds for both Succession and Awakening.

 

Gushing Waters has -9% evasion debuff and remove downsmash.

People always be complaining about my slows while thinking I get to slow for free and that it is better than Succ Zerk slows lmao
