I agree as well. I started to play in 2021 and I definitely do not remember PvP-focused marketing. I remember interesting combat system compared to other MMOs and vast world with extreme amount of things to do in PvE, PvP, and lifeskilling (this is what got me interested). PvP was not the only selling point.
The fact that somone perceived PvP as the important aspect for themselves should not be conflated with the way the game is/was presented. But this needs some level of self-awareness of course, which is not a trait that everyone is able to develop...

It really is as simple as the dedicated pvp people just want more noobs to stomp and they're being crybabies now that they're finally getting put in check. These changes have pissed off all the right people for the right reasons.
Every time I've seen nonconsensual pvp put into an mmo it has drained the playerbase and caused toxicity because nobody wants to die to some random when they're just trying to farm or get around. That is not enjoyable to anyone except the perpetrator. If I don't want to pvp I should not have to pvp. No excuses. No if's and's or but's.
People need to see the writing on the wall and accept the L at this point. Its a losing issue. The game philosophy is simply changing. Too many people got griefed and PA had been way too light about it for too long so now they have to put their foot down. Maybe you think its an overcorrection but they felt they had to do something and this is what they came up with.
I do agree that they should follow up these changes with some sort of way to force an interaction to prevent people from just ignoring and farming over you at a spot or doing your rotation backwards because if you flag and kill them you're in the wrong. That shouldn't be a thing either. That could be as simple as being able to flag a warning to an encroaching player and if they don't leave or fight then you can flag on them without penalty.
Yeah the game was failing so hard with the pvp all these years, the player numbers kept increasing. I love when idiots like you make the argument that it costs the playerbase, while it only went up. Keep on clowning, enjoy your 'MMO' where you only run in circles for no actual goal or endgame. The pvpers will slowly leave, and the game will turn into a barren wasteland.

Not fully revert but bring back elements. 1) allow one sided deccs; 2) put timers on them - long enough to allow people messing with rotations to be dealt with - 4-6 hours? ; 3) put cooldowns on them 72 hours.

If you want a pve game so damn badly then you and players of your ilk should've never started playing bdo to begin with because it clearly wasn't for you. Should've found a different game. Up until the middle of last year this game could still be confidently marketed as a pvp focused mmo, but you still joined anyway.

This kind of entitled attitude of yours got the gvg changes. Stop trying to push pve players out. It's no better than trying to push pvp players out
