Hello, I haven't played BDO for about 6 months now and wanted to start again. It seems that a lot has changed. As someone who found the dynamics of open world PvP(vE) exciting, I'm wondering if there is still a meaningful reason to flag up today (after the open world pvp, guild wars, Server swap and Spot profit changes).

Welcome back! Sadly, PA is taking an extremely opposed stance against PvP now. Just today, they announced that mob-feeding would be removed, the final tool in the kit players had left to combat griefing. Currently, the servers are subject to widespread pvp-player protest, from redname players mass-murdering at world bosses, to kama2's velia rooftops being filled with elephants.

It might not be the content you're looking for, but if you want to come help take a stand against these changes from Korea, we'd be happy to have you onboard.

I Just read it about 2 hours ago.

The thing is if they would of addressed this specific issue 1st they wouldn't have had to anything further.

Majority of the care bears were upset about losing crystals as the main issue not simply dying.

As far as I am concerned, I tried to motive the community a year ago... after the changes were announced you have streamers like Blue Squadron who is for the changes "Hence himself and other's have been getting griefed and targeted in game".

As I started in recent post that this is what was going to happen..

I also said that the scorced earth mentality is not going to end well for our side and while most that are "fighting back and Pk" it is simply going to keep pushing PA to eventually end it all together.

They literally are on the last few items before they remove the ability to Open World flag.

They are going to change the penalty to 1 PK loses 600k Karma making you red on kill. If it gets worse after it is simply shutting off the ability to flag in Open world killing OWPVP in BDO.

For me I am on life support for BDO, better game comes out I will be gone. They are making BDO not welcome for veteran players. I hope there new buisness model works for them cuz my time is limited as well as a lot of other players.

Thank u for ur Answer.

Unfortunately, I was afraid of that. But I've become tired of fighting against it.

If you look at my forum activities, you can see my efforts in this regard. I'm coming back primarily because of "War of the Roses".

Nevertheless, I'm wondering if there is still a meaningful reason to flag up today in the open world. I interpret your answer as "no".

They literally are on the last few items not before they remove the ability to Open World flag.

They are going to change the penalty to 1 PK loses 600k Karma making you red on kill. If it gets worse after is simply shutting off the ability to flag in Open world killing OWPVP in BDO.

I also have this impression after looking at all the changes as a whole. That's why I also ask whether there is still a sensible and meaningful reason for flagging up. If there is none, then removing flagging up would be the next logical step. It would be an unnecessary system that is just a relic of a past game vision.

This is not exclusive, but there are now two arsha channels. It seems the real weirdos are on anon. I pass people on Arsha all the time. We farm next to each other. If you do the kinda stuff people did back-when then someone might jump you. I recommend Arsha (reg) drop bonus is <3, too. Of course, people will come thru and look for pvp, but I look at that as part of the excitement?

On regs, I was farming and just was at my horse then moved in, and this other guy ran after (maybe his horse was far away, but I doubt it heh) and we farmed for awhile. And I was like "you ok with this?" Cuz I don't care if people wanna try to steal my mobs haha. And he said "taken." Which to me is an annoying word, esp cuz I was already there (so it seemed.) But I was like what is he gonna do, kill me? haha. And kept farming, and he left.

As I have said, and this is NO LIE. I have been killed more by rampaging reds off my horse than I have on regs in spots. I don't even think I've been killed once in a spot on regs, but to be fair I spend way more time on arsha. Highly recommend arsha regs. I think it might have been an overall bad change for Ow but with the adding of anon for people who are too afraid to put their name up (strangely the people who seem more toxic?) and arsha being full of people who prol were on regs before and wanted to be able to flag if someone was griefing their spot, it's a no brainer.

Edit: PS, all the no pvp trolls who say GO 2 ARSHA LUL, that really is true now. :) Enjoy.

Yeah, maybe it's time for me to play full on Arsha. On one Hand, I didn't play there before because I usually had worse gear. On the other hand, I liked that ow pvp on the normal servers was halfway regulated by the karma system. It gave the whole thing an additional dynamic, which was also linked to the whole guild system and node system. I like the principle of risk vs reward.

Now on the normal servers it just seems to be a risk to flag up.

Open world pvp is basically a thing of the past unless you live on arsha. PA has made it clear they'd rather cater to pve casuals  that essentially want a single player game with a required internet connection, for some reason. The existence of marni realm and the significant buffs they've made to it since its release supports this. It no longer holds that unique open world pvp niche it once did

def there are some people who love to wag their gear on you on arsha. I got a down vote tho yikes. I was just being real. But honestly I would recommend at least giving it a good try. As long as people aren't feeding you to mobs, you should be ok. See how it works out. It makes the game a lot less monotonous, too.

I don't even perma flag on arsha I'm just doing my own thing until stuff goes down. I'm not very geared, either. Usually I can tell by the way a person kills me if it's possible for me to do anything haha.

Arsha kids unite! I been sayin that, but I always thought the karma stuff was wack cuz I got karma bombed twice, and I almost never pvp'd. I got baited into karma bombs in good faith. Wack.

I like staying on Arsha when I can, but I also want to do (world) bosses, and swapping servers all the time, in addition to alts, is a pain.

When the Manos sailing log was released, I had continued to do my sailies on Arsha (anon, mostly) - and the siren does not spawn there, apparently.  So I've been spending most of my time on normal servers, and started getting siren spawns farily regularly.

I do like the always flagged part of Arsha anon. Party up if you don't want to get hit.  Got fed to mobs once when I wasn't paying attention, more like fed myself to mobs : )

Kind of feels like the way the game was meant to be, minus the anonymous part. Who cares who sees what name?  If you want to chat you give that up immediately anyway, so the 'anon' part encourages zero communications.  Arsha silent server, really.

Just a few personal thoughts, anyway.

Now, if only I could flag up on this stupid captcha...
