Not saying this would bring me back to BDO. But I figured I'd be constructive and suggest something of value for the players that are playing.

The idea is simple, make a group of servers that erase all progress. So people starting on these servers don't have to be mob fed. By people who've invested a huge amount of time and or money the whole way. While allowing those who are at end game to be practically unaffected by these servers.

I think it's pretty much time to admit that in a game with endless progression. Any type of catch up mechanics is a oxymoron. Here is why sure it might be easier for a player to get to softcap. But at softcap in today's time you can't do anything but be viciously griefed by much geared players. As they continue pushing their gear higher with highier income/hour. Meaning new and returning players can forget about catching up to them. Because catchup mechanics in BDO can not exist unless their is a long standing cap on gear. BDO is not that type of game.

Fresh Start Servers would fix this. By practically starting on a Fresh Start server. Everyone would be competitive to each other gear wise. Players would be able to have fun without some high gearscore ape pushing their face in for showing up to BDO too late.

I disagree, fresh start servers are not required at all. What is required is an acknowledgement by Pearl Abyss that a large percentage of their  players have no interest in pvp and as such they should create pve servers. For those players interested in pvp they need to create exciting pvp opportunities with ap/ dp caps.

Do it Pearl Abyss! You'll get a lot of returning and new players if you do. Way more than Seasons ever brought in.

Season server aren't fresh start servers. You can still carry over everything not gear related into them for one. An two Season server are linked with the existing servers a Season toon can go on any server even non Season arsha.

Season servers are a cash grab technique used to encourage rerolling thus encourage character bound item sales. Like inventory slots, weight, horse flute, outfits.

Use to be that a large % only cared about PVP. But over time the PVP community in this game slowly started to realize PA doesn't care about addressing or fixing issues in this game. Issue like class balance, FPS=DPS, NW design issues, RBF design issues, lack of 1v1 PVP content, lack of GvG content. So people who were interested in PVP either quit or just stopped caring about PVP sense issues never got addressed or fixed they only got ignored. Just like how PA ignores fixing or addressing any issues in this game.

The #1 issue with a fresh start tho is that the game's progression is still heavily tied to RNG. RNG will allow some players to shit out full PEN in a month thus insteadly making an unbalance environment cause RNG isn't fair in it self.

If they make a fresh start they need to completely overhaul how gear progression works. Otherwise will be right back at square one insteadly within a month's time.

@Vulpin Agreed.

Idk if now is a good time for a fresh start server. Those are usually meant for games that are well beyond their shelf-life, like Archage and WoW. WoW, a little less since it's still popular (prob the best tab target mmo overall)...BDO still has many great adventures ahead of us, that I don't think now is the time. Maybe in 5 years.

What I'd rather see, as someone who actively plays, is more Equalized PvP Opportunities. Doesn't even need amazing rewards, just avenues for all players, no matter their GS, to come together and just have good ol' plain FUN. Kind of like how Shadow Arena was...it was one of the more "fun" contents. No worry about min maxing, no worry about loot scroll efficiency, no worry about PVP to "geared apes" as you've put it, just fun.

I don't necessarily miss Shadow Arena, but do miss the opportunity for fun it brought to all players, regardless of their GS. One of the only things the game is missing, IMO... opportunities to have plain ol' FUN, shared among everyone.

Complete and total waste of time, after a month a "fresh start" server will have a massive gear gap, even more massive than it is now.  The market won't have the saturation it has now with items, meaning that some people will get lucky and advance far beyond the rest of the population, and the rest of the people won't have access to raw materials necessary to actually catchup.

Literally nothing to do with the topic, you are just derailing his thread he created. Make your own forum post for this.

I would play again if they made fresh start servers 100%. The time to catch up to people that have played for years and years is impossible. Season servers are only temporary and they dont allow you to progress past a certain stage they are not sufficient enough. Season server PVP has great RBF the game is just better when fresh\people on a more equal footing.
