But this isn't just an issue of e-sports, or outside of the games.  But an issue inside game chats as well.  But BDO has no system for reporting things like this in game in its chat, and this is a prevalant issue as well as other racism and bigotry.

That's not true.  Otherwise that would mean Pearl Abyss gave the authority and power to a bunch of their racist gamers to harass and effect ALL of their customers in a hostile and toxic game world.

With all due respect, i do think that Deyric has a point. Maybe not with the direct racism and bigotry, but it does seem that there is a lack of enforcement on part of the GM's. Afterall, why else would it be a topic repeated enough for you to make that comment?

However, i don't think the root is in racism and bigotry, but rather in the lack of consequences for actions taken that might be detrimental to the community at large. In earnest, i am a new player in the game, and don't have the experience that you might have, but it does seem that every time a question is asked, it is answered in a demeaning manor or in some other way rudely answered instead of the more reasonable action of ignoring it if you don't intend on answering it.

Now I'm not saying that you or the others replying to this post act in this way in game, hell for all i know you might find it funny. But for a new player, it seems like the community is hostile and unwelcoming, solely based on the fact that every time you see a question asked, one that you might have yourself, it is answered with a demeaning manor that can only be achieved by a keyboard warrior sitting on the hight of his/her power.

In conclusion, i would definitely like a feature where players could request the GM to intervene, for the sole reason that it might actually give the game a reputation of being willing to ban players that break certain standards of conduct.

Now, just to clarify, i do know that this game relies on continues spending, and hence probably wouldn't make such a system, but nevertheless one could hope that there would be a chance of raising the way we communicate, intead of just calling eachother "idiots" every time we see something that we don't agree with.

PErsonally I think the current tollkit and fezatures are enough to provide a reasonably safe chat environment.

Only a racist sees racism in others, there is only 1 race the Human race, every other claim is complaining about the shade of a skin color.  

Would be great if the in-game reporting option was there tbh.

In the meantime you can just fill your own "bad words" chat filter i guess...
