A month on Olvia? It's takes about 2,000 hours of grinding today to get up to baseline viable gear. To defend oneself if one save and buy it from the marketplace. That's 83 DAYS of actual grind time. That banking on the fact the player is not paying insane cash to skip gear grind, or is RNG carried like a few players in my guild I've witnessed in the past.

So in other words there are no tools to help this players against that? Anyone else want to inject to correct this claim? Or are we going to finally submit to the fact these players will consistantly bump heads against PKing griefers?

You know other actual Sandbox games to include Eve Online would like to have a word with you about that.

Okay...WHY are you even AT locations that has the high geared people to begin with if you don't have the gear for those zones?  Your fresh out of Olvia server player ain't gonna be grinding hadum orcs or monestary.  Or even SE.  So the chances of you running into a high geared player at all is miniscule to begin with outside of treasure piece areas.  And when you DO run into one of those players, a nice chat can defuse any chance of PvP if you are not inclined.  And finally if you are so unlucky as to run into a high geared player who wants to PK you...what do you lose exactly?  The one who kills you really ends up being inconvienced more.  And that is assuming you don't bring a GvG or have a high geared friend to come help you.  PKing in this game is a last resort for most players for people who are being too much of an a-hole.  If you are running into a lot of PKing...chances are YOU are the a-hole and maybe you should not be one if you want it to stop.  

What ap/dp or gearscore is determined to be baseline viable gear?

Last I checked most T2 NW guilds NA are requiring 600 GS minimal. So I'll stay that's the baseline bar to be viable in this game's PvP scene. Which by the way things are currently going will be raised before the end of this year.

BDO is gear-centric and be damned if we say that BDO doesn't tempt players into spending IRL cash lol.  It's a different business model from most games I'm assuming we've grown accustomed to, for sure lol.  But you don't have to spend much $, or at all, but that does mean it requires time, effort, and a solid grasp on how to efficiently earn silver.  The game doesn't tell you how to do this -- you, the player, need to figure this out yourself.  It's what makes BDO great IMO, the "figure it out yourself", "long-haul" aspect of the game.

If gearing up for PVP is a goal of yours, and want to reach full PEN armor and weapons without P2W, it'll take a serious approach to the game, if wanting to accomplish this is a reasonable amount of time, but isn't hard to do, just takes time and effort.  Here's what I suggest.

Find a way to earn 300 million silver a day for starters.  Lifeskill, grind, imperials, etc.  Average yourself 300m a day.  At 300mil a day, you can purchase a PEN Mainhand/TET BS in about a month and a half.  When you get more APand can grind in more lucrative areas or more lifeskill EXP/mastery, up your daily goal to 400m a day.  16 bil / 400m = a PEN every 40 days.  I feel 500m a day is a cozy, sweet spot, even better if you can make more than this.  As you settle into your gameplay loop, you'll become more efficient as you go.

Do this, formulate a gameplay loop, some routines, and before you know it, you'll have that Wealth badge above your head and can upgrade to that sexy azz PEN.  And no you don't need to "grind 24/7 for weeks and weeks" to do this lol.  2 -3 hours active a day.  No cash shop needed, though having a little bit of disposable income does speed it up, but is not necessary if you play and know what you want and what you're doing.

BDO is supposed to be a "hardcore" MMORPG.  Less hardcore now than originally, but it maintains the long-haul aspect of it.  BDO is game meant for the long haul, the "Adventure" (progression / "getting there") being where the enjoyment comes from.  IMO, ofc.  "Endless progresion" was originally marketed, and is still maintained.

Go troll another forum of some other game you might be playing since you are NOT ENGAGED in BDO.
